Is p2p lending is safe in india?

thought on p2p lending as a investment like Cred mint, 12 percent club, OkNivesh (okcredit) Grip Invest, India P2P etc.

i do not faced any problems with withdrawal and i used Cred mint and 12 percent club

but scared as might be chances there NPA will increased and i might not able to withdraw my whole month

i kept around 8L in cred mint and 3L in 12 percent club

your thoughts?

P2P is a black swan risk. For 2-3% percent extra you risk your entire capital. The risk is mostly unseen because if it materializes, you risk not getting back the principal as well. In short, if you want to invest, be mindful of the allocation. If it goes to 0, you should still be able to survive. Equity imo has a better risk-return trade off

From personal experience of P2P lending from 4 years ago: Your principal is at risk. The lending apps downplay the risk in asset recovery.

p2p is not safe. Financial world is controlled by banks and big institutions. They don't like their turf being invaded. They may be quiet now, but soon it will crash. When it does, there is no fall back options. When bank fails, government will step in as it will have a contagion effect and it also impact voter perspective of the ruling party. When P2P fails, no government will bother as it doesn't impact vote bank. Remember yes bank At1-Bonds fiasco?, The investor lost money. But the saving account holders/FD holders were saved because it was general public. When ever a company uses terms like "tech based", "new age" to define its business..... run... Its a scam in making.

It's risky, better to loan your business friends/family you know directly and know well.

I just took a short term working capital loan from close friends for my startup to finance incoming orders. 12% annual interest, no middleman fees, will be paid off in less than 6 months. Easy and convenient for both parties.

It is not safe anywhere in world. If u put all ur eggs in one basket then u’ll be burnt someday. High risk, high reward but only if it’s calculated risk. Don’t put ur life savings into this
