Is the culture bad if you need to send logging off early?
Hi guys, I am unable to understand if culture is bad or I am thinking about it wrong - “logging off early” message/email at 5/6 PM for someone who started at 9/10 AM. Does that mean the expectation is to stay until like 8 PM for this person? Or the person wants to be transparent in case he’s reached out later? Don’t know but I feel bad that this is considered early.
it might depend on the company, but generally you’re allowed to finish your hours post 5, is your boss aligned?
like if you work for 8 hrs, and they don’t mind as long as it is between 8am to 9pm

They need to do some social life rather than computer only.

Yes. On your deathbed, you would not want to see your life flashing and you finding yourself just in front of a laptop. Work to earn money, which will help you live life and have experiences. Bosses aye bosses gaye. Company ayi company gayi.

Correct. I have been working for the last 15 years in industry my learning is that after some it does not matter The only matter is health and personal life .
There's definitely some showoff going on if someone says logging off early at 6pm.
Can't just say whole culture is bad because of one person.
If you can talk openly with your manager, you can ask them, is leaving at 6 early ?
Their response would tell you the culture, because managers are the ones making/breaking a team culture.

Yes.
What are your usual work timings? In the global teams where the team is spread across the US and India, calls usually happen in the evening - around 7-8PM. If someone needs to log off early for some reason, they would send a message like that.
