To skip the long story I was fired out of nowhere by the company I was working for my supervisor never told me I was doing nothing wrong everybody played it off until I received a call saying they let me go I have 2 kids under 2 it’s been hard trying to upskill and study for to make myself more valuable and my spouse works idk what to do I feel like I’m useless and a waste of life.

I want to share my experience as a fresher at Accenture, my first company from a college placement. The first six months were fine, but then I faced severe mental harassment from my supervisor and manager. She constantly criticized my work and gave negative feedback, causing me immense stress. I often skipped meals and worked weekends to improve, but nothing helped.

Despite reporting the issue and requesting a supervisor change or a different track, my requests were ignored. The harassment worsened, affecting my physical health, and I couldn't eat or sleep properly. My manager controlled trivial aspects like where to sit and whom to talk to, making the situation unbearable. I was even forced to switch from a developer role to a tester, despite being trained as a developer.

The final straw was being placed on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) without a clear reason, with the same harassing individuals assessing me. I only had 1.9 years of experience then. I reported the mental harassment to HR and resigned due to deteriorating health, panic attacks, and weight loss. Despite having no other job offer, I couldn't continue. Even during my notice period, I was forced to complete PIP assignments, which led to suicidal thoughts and further health issues.

Now, I am jobless, feeling helpless and frustrated. With less than 2 of experience, I struggle to find offers in a down IT market and don't know what to do next.

Hello People,
I am from non-tech background but I need technical job. 
I did BSc in 2020 and thought to do goverment job preparation but due to some tragedy happend in my family I was unable to do anything for my career for more than 2 years and after that I got to know that I can learn skills and apply for IT jobs. I have done course on fullstack in 2023 but i did not got a single call or job offer for fresher. I am really fed up now and depressed. I have to look after me myself and do everything bcz of no leader in my family. Plesse suggest me what shall I do. Is it fine to apply jobs with fake experience? Will that help and will it be fine?

Been over a month I have been laid off. For the first time in almost 4 years I have had no work at all for over a month. Feels a bit good, a bit relaxed from the immense work pressure and toxicity but at the same time lot of pressure with regard to finances, as and more days are passing. Have been taking time out to upskill myself, applied to over 300+ jobs maybe by now. Got call backs from 10-12, interviewed with 5. None of them turned out to be positive yet. Lot of sympathy and empathised content goes on Linkedln but reaching out to people, 1/15 may respond, putting a status, people just write CFBR mostly (hence I totally avoided that).

Any advice, tips, help would be appreciated.

I have a Category Management/Growth & Marketing background.

I started as a fresher at a big service-based company, faced a lot of politics, and was learning nothing. I realized I needed to leave it ASAP. I left it after 8 months, then was jobless for 2 months.

After 2 months joined an early-stage startup, and was satisfied with my learning for a while, but in the backend team, there were only two people me and the CTO. And my dynamics with him didn't go very well. There was no culture as well, weekdays and weekends were the same. I was still fine with it but the guy (CTO) became very toxic and creepy.

In 2 months, I started interviewing and I got into a mid-sized series B startup that had a good culture.  I had to switch tech stack and it was more overwhelming than I thought initially. I tried to do good but I got laid off after working there for 10 months. All the way along I increased my package to a decent level.

Now I feel super demotivated and underconfident and it's been 6 months since and I haven't taken up a job. With an increasing gap, I feel I have fucked up my career.

In these 6 months, I have tried exploring different career options but haven't been able to crack any or have been indecisive and I feel I should just take up a job.

Seeking career advice

I'm in serious trouble.
I was an sde for 3+ years. Didn't like it, thought it's not meant for me and wanted a different job. 
Came across Product management, which piqued my interest. Somehow found a contract job at a startup and did it for a year. While it's not a traditional PM, it was more of a project manager.

The contract ended, now I'm unemployed.

Applied for jobs, no luck. Now I'm questioning my career choices, should I stick with PM or should I go back to being a techie. I definitely don't want to go back to coding, but I'm thinking of doing something like IAM/okta/cyberark stuff. 

Experienced folks, please help. I literally don't know where am I headed in life

I left my job in December in a pre seed startup and unable to find a new one. Got few interviews but end up being ghosted. 

I have 3 years of experience as a product manager in fintech Startups but currently no leads in pipeline 

I am distressed due to prolonged unemployment I am facing with uncertainty about the future. 

How would you recommend someone to cope with this situation

I work in the Product Analyst for a US based startup. I have not had anything to do for the last one week, while my team that comprises of Dev and Design folks have a lot of work. I feel very useless in the office. My company would be glad to have me contribute to design or development but I don’t have the skillsets for it. 
My question to the ones reading this here, is if I must acquire the design skills(Figma) or development skills(Frontend) and contribute to the product development efforts simultaneously expanding my skillset or acquire product management skills and build my profile well as the natural career progression of my job is in and towards Product management(especially considering that I am a fresher and I don’t have any prior product experience). I wish to stay in the Product field in foreseeable future.
Please help me out with this folks, TIA!

Feeling useless at my job

I have a total of about 7 years of work experience, 2 years before MBA and 5 years after. The chunk of my experience is with an ecommerce startup. I've had at least three different role changes here and 10+ manager changes. I've worked my ass off in every role but with a constant feeling that it wasn't enough. I suspect a part of this is the imposters syndrome and the other part is the hustle culture that the company promotes. You're expected to be always on the go and irrespective of the pace you're at, it's never enough. 

I have been with this company for over 4 years and my ESOPs are 100% vested. I have been sitting on this very strong need of wanting to move on from here. The constant uncertainty + the layoffs I've seen is an added motivation. The company is changing its strategy every quarter and no one seems to know what they're doing. At this point people are only working for the optics and because losing a job in this market could mean months of unemployment. I want to move out but feel confused about what my skill set is. In a startup you end up doing just about everything. You become a generalist and that's making me feel like I lack depth. I'm low on confidence, the job market is unforgiving and I feel absolutely stuck right now. I'm unrepaid compared to my peers and that's a constant thought in my head. I'm currently unmarried with no dependents so the money is not an issue from sufficiency pov, it's more about being paid per the market standards. 

I'm not sure how to get out of this limbo and it's eating at me every second.

I am 22 year guy who is interested in development and loves coding.But somehow don't know have lost my interest completely in everything. During my final year of college. I had got a job offer for Associate software engineer role in a cloud based startup. My college didn't let me attend further placement opportunities due to recession  and when my college got over in May 2023 ,The company called me and informed that joining date was August 2023. But 4 days before the joining date,they revoked the offer. I was jobless and completely heartbroken at that time.After four months of grinding,I got a job in a testing based company. The company offered a 15k salary (13.5k in hand).
It's been already 9 months since my graduation and due to my bad financial situation in my family.I joined the company hoping, I would get a better increment after the training period is completed. But now it's been 6 months and they  are still paying me the same amount . This is not how I thought I would be leading my working life. I am not bragging about my self but I know,I  deserve better than this,I  am a MERN stack developer (I know, currently market is saturated with MERN stack developers),I have done app development in flutter, Basics of Machine learning.I am just sad not I am not working as a developer. I travel 2 hours for work and 9 hours of work. Daily 13 hours goes into this only.I come home tired and sleep. I am not blaming anyone for my situation,but I am mad at myself for not doing anything about it.Honestly speaking whenever I want to start something I will get confused and end up not doing anything.
I don't have anyone to guide me or to help

Qualifications: BTech IT from tier-3 college, Pass Out in 2021, CGPA 7

Skills: Python + DSA (Intermediate), HTML, CSS, JS (Intermediate).

In 2021 I was preparing for government job and was really passionate about govt services but I failed in CDS II 2021 and lose all of my focus and my parents want me to get a job in related field so in January 2022 I started looking for job in IT but I was not good at anything and so I thought I wasn't job ready and start learning to Python and DSA and Web Development but in meantime I procrastinated and wasted so much of my time I was demotivated with zero focus and after months I am still not good at anything I don't have anything to show on my resume no projects, no experience nothing.

I have wasted more than a year just thinking what should I do and got nowhere. Lately I started to learn web dev from theodinproject.com and have completed foundations. Tbh i wasted time during this learning phase also and manage to complete this in a month. And after that I started to learn reactjs (haven't completed it yet)

And now I am really desperate for a job. What should I do to get a job with minimum preparation like give 1 months and get a job? I am not looking for something specific. I don't have any goals. ATM I have no idea what I am passionate about.

I'm 24 and unemployed and How can I turn my life around? All those years in school and college I never worked hard enough but now I regret it. I want to work hard now but have been procrastinating a lot. I need guidance on how to get a job and what to learn further to get a job.

So last year March i got laid off. Was there with the company for more than 5 years. Was told they are restructuring the org. I was devastated, though i wanted to move much before, but company did not cut pay or jobs during the peak pandemic, so i thought ill stick around for some more time. Next thing i know boom gone. I have taken a break since then almost did nothing.it's more than a year but anxiety of shitty boss, long hours work is hitting me even harder as i apply for jobs. Don't know how the market is going treat me.

Despite applying to nearby companies and MNCs, I haven't received any responses, leaving me feeling tense and depressed. I'm uncertain about when hiring will resume.

I am a frontend developer with 1.4 years of experience. I worked in a YC-backed startup where I led their product. I have given interviews at Simpl Pay, PhonePe and many small and mid-sized startups. For Simpl Pay and PhonePe, I failed the interviews and was disappointed in myself. In small and mid-sized startups there I answered 95% of their questions perfectly, yet I was still rejected. 

I have given 9 interviews to date and have been rejected in each of them. I would say 60% of them were interviews where I answered every question correctly and felt I should have been hired while 40% were ones where I failed to answer some questions and deserved the rejection.

It has been 6-7 months that I am unemployed, learning React Native and TypeScript and going deeper into frontend technologies. I am not able to understand if this is only happening to me or if it is common in the current market.

Any guidance or advice that could help me get a job quickly would be greatly appreciated. I feel well-prepared for interviews but any additional insights you have might be beneficial.

Job Hunting Since Nov 22 (Still unemployed)

I am a senior manager in a software company, in my 40s , in the cloud operations domain. I have no post grad ,no certs , and playing a people leader role, no technical knowledge (i am technically inclined but have not made learning tech my priority),  I feel like I am not employable if I get fired. Hello there,

I am a regular 3.5 yr exp web dev. I joined Grapevine, just to express my inner thoughts and it's much better to be anonymous.

I got stuck in a void !!! Rn what I a getting is much less as per my experience. The daily routine seriously makes me feel I am a worthless and unskilled person. The type of person who if quits his job will never find another all because I am not good at anything. The main fight is I want to switch to some PM or consultant role but I am filled up with self-doubt and scared of thinking that I am unskilled regular labour, who has somehow gotten into IT...

Whether you call it self doubt/laziness /indiscipline things are not helping me to grow and crack a new job with a better daily routine.

Appreciate your suggestion/feedback.

But please help me and suggest to me how can I get into a technical consultant or any managerial role.

Is this a void career?

Its been 3 months since I left my last company after completing 8 months of internship, I rejected the full time offer because I was exploited and work culture was very toxic, since then I applied to more than 100+ jobs online and hardly converted 5 interviews and got 1 offer for part time which is soon going to be revoked, assuming from the company's behaviour. At this point I have lost all the motivation to work, improve and apply for jobs I am tired and drowing in self doubt. It even kills me to see the people who are not skilled as I am are getting good jobs and salary. With all this my family is not so supportive and not a single day has passed where I didn't get into arguments with my parents.
