Laid off

I worked at a remote start up in digital marketing space and helped them generate huge revenue and creative programs. I always received praise from my team, PODs and Clients. Today in the name of company profits and without proper reason because of my manager's favourism and ass saving of her family n friends working in the company I am told to resign. I am feeling very broken as I was always getting recognized and I loved to create good brands and now I am disposed like I wasn't there only because of my toxic dalal manager. Can you all help me what should I do to get a good job at the earliest please sir and madam! I have responsibilities and really need a start.

Maybe soon I'll be get laid of by my firm as layoff is ongoing in company and manager also keeping distance from last some days. How to handle this situation.

Just got laid off. 4/11 in the team are axed stating the roles being redundant. This might also have an impact on other teams as well. It's a small org of a bigger listed Company. All are asked to resign so they can provide 2 months of salary. I'm not naming the org for anonymity.

I am an ML engineer working in a startup. My current situation is horrible,I am constantly stressed about getting laid-off(My performance is good,I got promoted a month ago). I came to know that my company will probably lay people off this month,since they are unable to meet targets. Now,I got rejected in four interviews. There is a lot to learn and revise. Stats and probability. Machine learning algos. Deep learning architectures(got rejected because I was unable to explain the architecture of a complex model in detail). DSA(got rejected twice in this round). SQL (got rejected once since I was unable to solve the SQL problem). ML ops(some recruiters ask this as well). With the added pressure of getting laid off,my whole life is turned upside down.I am unable to focus. Every meeting or discussion I attend I feel like people are evaluating me.( This was not the case before). I don't know what to do. It would really help,if you guys share your interview experiences below.

I don't know why everyone is making a big deal out of layoffs. Even the ones who laid off are not that concerned than the ones who comment. Laid off employees literally get free money upwards of 10 lakhs in many cases of senior developers who are laid off from top tech startups. Companies pay severance equal to 3-6 months salary of laid off employees. Some even offer other benefits as well. I personally know a couple of Devs who got around ~9-10L in severance pay. So, yeah if there are layoffs happening in funded tech startups or leading tech companies, considering their pay range, laid off employees get handsome severance pay including employee benefits

Hey everyone, I hope you can help me out with this one query i have, is it fine to tell the interviewer that i got laid off when they ask why i am looking for a job change in this marker? I have been WFH for 2 years, have 6L in liquidity for runway i guess, idk if it's safe or not but how is the job market currently. Recently gave interview in a tier 1 product based company, got rejected in 2nd round as well so what should be my plan now? How to tackle this feeling of being incompetent and anxiety? I hope you can me out with these questions 😭

Feels a bit good, a bit relaxed from the immense work pressure and toxicity but at the same time lot of pressure with regard to finances, as and more days are passing. Have been taking time out to upskill myself, applied to over 300+ jobs maybe by now. Got call backs from 10-12, interviewed with 5. None of them turned out to be positive yet. Lot of sympathy and empathised content goes on LinkedIn but reaching out to people, 1/15 may respond, putting a status, people just write CFBR mostly (hence I totally avoided that). Any advice, tips, help would be appreciated. I’m from a non-tech background.

Hi folks, I recently got laid off from a startup where 50% of the engineering team was let go. I was working as an SDE and during a restructuring, my role was changed to SDE-2 without any increase in pay or responsibilities. I have a total of 2.5 years of experience. In my first company (where I worked for a year), there weren't many projects, so I didn't have the opportunity to learn or code much. However, in my second company, I primarily worked on the backend using Go, Django, Kafka, MongoDB, & PostgreSQL. I realize that although I gained exposure in my second job, I didn't delve deeply into the technologies. I mainly focused on completing business tasks quickly, learning new things just to finish the task at hand, without solidifying my understanding afterward. My experience seems suitable for an SDE-2 role, but I'm unsure if I can perform the role with complete honesty and may struggle. Some friends in similar situations reassure me that this struggle is common in SDE-2 roles. However, I feel I might be better off starting again as an SDE-1, focusing on my weak areas, and aiming for a promotion later. There are very few SDE-1 job openings currently. I am actively interviewing for SDE-2, and not able to clear system design interviews. Tbh, I feel very humiliated as when I am not able to answer their questions it feels like I am wasting their time or they would be thinking: Oh this guy has been working for so long and doesn't even know anything. Now I get it why people think Indian Software engineers are not that good in comparison to other countries' devs: the reason is people like me. This realization burdens me with guilt, occupying my thoughts constantly. However, I am confident that I can crack SDE-1 easily. I have good DSA & good enough LLD, &HLD skills for SDE1. I am looking for companies who can match my prev Salary: 22 L, 2 Bonus. Can u help how to navigate this career situation effectively without increasing my guilt or feeling constantly humiliated?

I've been told that my working style and expectations as a PM don't match with the current situation in the company (no strategy, simply executing) and for that reason, they don't want to assign any new work. There are no appraisals either for anyone, people are leaving the company. I'm not sure what to do about it now. I have 1.2 years of work experience and every PM opening expects a minimum of 3-4 years
