Looking to Switch to Product

I am looking to internally switch to a product role. Next month, I will be making the transition. Please suggest the appropriate salary I should request in my upcoming appraisal cycle in March?

I started at 6.8 as an Associate Product Manager. I know ISB grads get 25 as an Associate Product Manager.

I had no fancy degrees, and paid the price with my time. Now I earn shoulder to shoulder with these ISB PMs.

Find your own price. Slog hard. Eventually it all flattens out.

But to answer your question, ask for atleast 15 or 30% hike, whichever is higher

You have an amazing journey tbh. Would given an option, would you work for a early stage start up or a large company for a product role? And your reason?

Started working for Jio last month. Each day I regret my decision selecting this over other options that I had.

For me, I think I still have a few risk taking and extreme hustling years left in me. Jio is paying me a lot, but the experience isn’t rich at all.

I think the size of the organisation has less to do with the work, but rather what principles they work on. Jio is anything but a Product first company. I’ve worked for a 50 employee company as well which was the same. PMs there are mere sugar coated Project Managers.

However, Sprinklr on the other hand is a ginormous company, but with product first thinking, I think it can give a lot of enriching experiences to PMs.
