Mental well being at work place
Does your company invest in well being( Mental and Physical) of all employees ( not counting insurance stuff) ? Some of the place that i have worked, have invested a lot in it, but eventually the benefit does not get passed on to employee primarily because of lack of awareness on how to use them or people always caught with work that they don’t have time to access these help. I also feel that top executives and mid managers are not trained on how to tackle issue when their teammate reach out citing problems of what they are going through regarding mental well being. Out of ignorance the first instinct is to see if it does not hamper the org in anyway or get rid of employee. Would love to hear more on this
I agree that people managers or people at the top should be trained or coached to do better with teammates who get affected. Despite having 18, 20+ years exp they treat mental illness like it is an epidemic or something superstitious or the person's weakness.
There are things done like video meet with experts on relevant personal topics for company wide audience, team lunches, dance/meditation online events, etc. but it’s all voluntary and it comes down to individual to take out time separately for it and attend. Can’t say something u r looking for. That might be there more in Europe I guess
