Moved abroad with my current role
I was able to move to Europe with my current company and role. Let me know if you have any questions!
Hi
Any impact of recession on tech jobs?
Also doesn't the company help in visa process?
At the moment, there has been some layoffs but depending on the company. The Amazon/ Twitter/ meta layoffs haven’t impacted so much in Germany due to the strict labour laws.
Regarding the visa process, it again depends on the company. Start-ups require you to do the whole process by yourself but established companies help you out with the whole process. But to be honest, there is very little they can do from Germany. Most of the work was done by us. They supported us with the necessary documents but the appointments, visa approval etc. depends on you.
Oh okay got it.
Thanks a lot for the detailed response. I am looking for a switch (different company but within Big4) for Germany. Was in doubt whether its right time to apply and proceed further or not.
Also, I don't know German Language, will that create any hurdle/obstacle in getting hired in Germany at a Big4 firm? What is the basic level of German language I should be aware of just in case?
Sorry for asking much but I am really focused on moving and working in Germany as soon as possible...
Thanks again!

How was the visa application? Were there any long delays?
So depends on where you process your visa from. Documentation is very important. Mumbai took 3 months to process the visa. Getting an appointment took about 3 months. Visa application was a nightmare. The total period was more than 6 months. (Offer came in march and finally went in December)
Thank you for the detailed answer. Sorry to hear about such long delays. The process is a excruciating.

Many congratulations!
Are you from a tech background?
If yes, how many months/years did it take to move abroad?
Thank you! My husband is from tech. He changed jobs. It took him 6 months after applying to multiple companies.
