Mumbai traffic

Yes, am new to Mumbai. And Mumbai traffic is the worst I have ever seen anywhere in India. I know Blr is infamous for traffic and I have been there too, but Mumbai is just miles apart (no pun intended) when it comes to the unpredictability of going from point A to point B. Part of the problem is I believe are the locals which generate very little to no revenue at all (practically seen :P ). And the other part being the geography of Mumbai itself. But given the conscious and rich gentry of Mumbai, there have been no hue and cry in regards to improving this scenario. One needs a good 1 hour to travel just a mere distance of 4-5 kms. I mean, seriously what is going on in Mumbai?! Why aren’t the educated and powerful sections making no moves to solve this?

What time did you travel at? Where did you travel to, and where from? Did you check the estimated time on maps before traveling?

You’re new to the city no, all of the above are factors you will learn to take into account, otherwise just use trains and you won’t complain too much.

What happened in Bangalore yesterday, has never happened to me in Bombay in 28 years of living here. A similar incident occurred in Hyderabad too a couple of months back I think. Traffic is everywhere, knowing how to navigate it should be your mindset.

You're gonna have to be more specific my friend because I cover a distance of 42 kms in a maximum of 1.5 hours by local trains. What part of Mumbai is this rant about?

There are. chokepoints,especially railway bridges which require an hour to get through, Bandra T-junction, Dadar overhead bridge, Elphinston/prabhadevi bridge; but most people choose their residence on the same side of their office: thats the first rule in Mumbai.

Easier to get to Worli from Andheri (30km) via local than from Parel (3-4km)
