Basically the title, I am new to freelancing as a web dev. I want clients but on upwork, fiverr is so crowded i can't get any. I heard lots of people get clients from LinkedIn and Twitter. How do they get clients, Is public profile needed or past projects required? I haven't posted my projects on LinkedIn or Twitter.

i am product manager with 6yoe and with some good brands. but lately i am wondering if this is peak and future demand of software product manager with no hands on coding experience will keep declining i sometime feels that either i have to learn coding (which i am learning) or else find a hard core industry like EV, renewable energy, batteries, semiconductor etc whats your thoughts? super curious to learn what you all feel about digital product manager? also one question where i appreciate your feedback - I have not done MBA yet but contemplating it now to make switch industry to non software. I have given a product development work to a freelancer. 80% amount paid and balance 20% to be paid and take the code and complete project. What are the steps to be followed so that I won't be at risk after paying balance payment, code security or reuse etc. any suggestions would be helpful
