Where to invest 10L?
I have 10L in my account that I want to invest lumpsum. Flexible to invest into different instruments. Ideally want some 3-4L to be liquid. What are the best options to invest?
Current mf portfolio (total invested = 10L) : Axis small cap Quant absolute Hdfc equity savings Axis blue chip Sbi gold (just started)
Top performers are axis small cap and quant; also running an sip on them
Current stocks (1.3L ): Mostly largecap (mostly in red)
The rest of the money is either in fds or in the Bank (significant amount)
I feel the equity portion of my investments is very less and I need to be a bit more aggressive on it right now since I've about 60% of my net worth in either fd or in Bank. I can probably do a 5L lump sum then an sip on the same if they continue to perform well. Considering that please suggest some investment options
A few options I had in mind: Us mutual funds Chinese funds Indian infrastructure funds Reits
Rather than SBI gold , you can look for SGB. Do lumpsum in piece meal basis as and when markets keep correcting. Please do check for overlapping on existing mutual funds. You may exploring investment in index funds Nifty 50 Next 50, Midcap 150.
The reason I went with SBI mf is coz it doesnt have a big lock in period like sgb Wouldn't a nifty 50 overlap with the existing blue chip fund ???
How about a balanced fund ?
Why not stocks?
Mf seem more safe; less need for active management. But I'm open to stocks if you've some suggestions from long term pov. Was a bit apprehensive coz I'm looking for lump sum and a investing big amount in just one or few stocks seem a bit risky. Would need to be very very sure before doing it
Need of the hour is you taking a Fundamental Analysis course so that you can restructure your stocks portfolio. If during such a bull run your portfolio is in red, that means entry points are incorrect or stock picking was poor. If you improve your stock picking expertise, it will far outperform your MF portfolio. My way has been the opposite of yours with near 10L in stocks and 2L in MF. Current return on stocks is 110% while MF return stands at 43%.

Hi guys, I have around 4L cash lying around which I wanted to invest. Currently, I think I am in a position to take maximum risks, and see where things go. I also haven’t redeemed the 1.5L tax deduction on Section 80c so PPF and ELSS ar...
I have some lumpsum of say 1-2 lakhs and wish to invest for long time into a good fund for good returns. Suggestions are welcomed.
Hi all, I save about 40k/month after all monthly expenses.
I'm planning to invest this amount in equities to maximize returns.
Need suggestions on where to invest? I'm aiming to accumulate 40L as a down payment for a flat.
