1. Result quality decline- For any content, I generally end up getting lots of spam results, essentially spammy SEO links. 
2. Shit ton of ads- Almost first 5 posts are ads for any generic query. 

Hate using it. Someone needs to disrupt Search business soon and bring in new business model. 

Ps: I know about Neeva and few other companies attempting to change it. I sincerely hope they do. Also OpenAi is leading competitor to search  now.

TL;DR: We are launching our biggest product since Grapevine itself. We’ve worked really really hard on this one.

Salaries is now live as the ‘middle tab’ on the Grapevine app

Why we built this: Getting paid is one of the main reasons why we work, and our goal with Grapevine was always to solve for information asymmetry 

With this we set out to make a product with the following principles at its core: 
1. Make Salary information visual 
2. Focus on freshness
3. Bring out the story behind the data 
4. Help people assess their own salaries v/s global data

 Today, the product works well for software engineers, kinda well for product managers and designers.  
 But as we gather more salary data points - this only gets better and more actionable :)

Google slowly laying off employees in one country after another is the most nerve wracking move. 
Couple days back they cut employees in Australia and similarly they keep laying off in a new country each week. Must be so enervating for employees. 

IMO meta and Amazon handled layoffs much better

As Grapevine enters its second year of being live, we wanted to finish the major overhaul we were building towards over the last few months. 
We've rolled out some big updates today - please do update your app.

Here's some top changes: 

1. Communities: A whole new look to communities on Grapevine, along with new features such as community sort and live member counts (screenshot attached) 
2. UI: A new font, new like (upvote) button and new community icons across the app
3. 100 Private Grapevines: We are proud/happy to share that there's now 100 private company grapevines where verified employees talk amongst each other. Join your company's Grapevine now. 
4. Grapes 2.0: A new definition for Grape rewards coming soon. Grapes 2.0 definition will include more value to users for creating 'chatty' posts and verifying yourselves 
5. Direct Messages: Multiple changes to improve the DM experience on Grapevine. You can also DM anyone from the Grapevine team (including MS) at any time without any Grape-constraints :)
6. Gestures: You can now swipe between screens on Grapevine, you can also swipe left when a post is open to go back to home screen (on iOS)

A big new update to Grapevine

- Google Maps is rolling out an AI model to help drivers navigate narrow roads and flyovers in India, using satellite imagery and Street View data to estimate road width and other factors.
- The app will now allow users to book local train and metro tickets directly within the app, starting with Kochi and Chennai, and plans to expand to more cities.
- Google Maps will show information about over 8,000 EV charging stations, including two-wheeler stations, in partnership with providers like ElectricPe and Ather Energy.
- Flyover callouts will be integrated into navigation, providing clearer instructions for drivers, and will be available in 40 cities across India.
- Curated lists of popular places to visit will be available in major Indian cities, helping users find top spots like cafes and breakfast places.

Updates on DMs and a few newer additions:

1. DMs are live... I just had a few conversations with a few of you. 
We do apologize for the initial buggy experience, but we’ve since worked on fixing it. We’re rolling out a fix patch, and in the meantime logging out and in out of Grapevine will get your DMs working. Sorry for the initial hiccups folks!

2. ⁠ Search is improved. You can now write a query in Natural Language and it just works. My favourite is, “Best Startups to work at”

3. ⁠Feed is tailored to you. We use posts you’ve interacted with in the past to deliver the next best post on Grapevine. The most relevant posts are re-ordered to the top.

Looks like no matter where you go, it always takes way more time and Google Maps is never accurate in this city. This is not the case for other cities
