There's no 1 answer to it. It cannot be solved in an instant. I attend therapy to deal with issues in my life. I find Procrastination a single most disastrous thing in my life.
When discussed, I was told that focus on self Discipline. Here are things i was told -
Unfortunately without knowing what kind of Procrastination you have, it's not advisable to take up my points. I suggest consult with a therapist and talk it out and solve for it!
Wonderfully written.
Though I seem not able to get going. There's an internal restrain, which has no possible reason. Social media says its ADHD but can't confirm as it's not professionally diagnosed.
I had seen a psychologist once after Class 12 and she prescribed 8 sessions. It's been 12 years from then (without the sessions, she charged 1500 per hour)
So yea, here I am grappling with mental health without any names to it
Hey,
Try this points out. Like I said, there's no direct way, it's a long way to go my friend and a painful one too! It's not easy to do the difficult boring things everyday to reap benefits a year later maybe.
Also, why not try talking to a therapist now. Explain what you are going through, navigate through your difficulties. I understand you did it in 12th, but you are far more mature now than before, you would have better perspectives of your Procrastination nuances.
Also, Just to let you know, you do have to do the maximum work, they can only help you realise why you do it and possible ways to understand it better. What works for you is what you try and see!
Best of luck, don't worry too much. Trust me, I am in a terrible situation as well, but like Naruto, I ain't gonna lose my belief in myself. All I suggest is you don't do the same
These 2 books have helped me immensely, even if you are not reading the entire book you can check out the YouTube summaries and try to apply few things out of it.
Getting things done by David Allen Eat that frog by Brian Tracy
If you’re into reading, I’d suggest read Atomic habits from James Clear. I like some of the practical tips like habit stacking. It works in my personal experience. Give it a try, taking the first step is important!
I loved the suggestion, thanks. But problem with me is that I am trying to make a habit of reading books. Do you think even if I am a slow reader and it's likely that I will leave reading the book mid way, I should just take a step forward and start reading it or do I work on myelf first like some prerequisite? (in past I have started many books and left midway)
I have a very good technique to avoid procrastination. I'll let you know tomorrow
As an ADHD diagnosed person, nothing yet worked for me. I always do things when the deadline is near. It's taking a big toll on my mental and physical health. I started the meds, but the current ones are not working, I feel sleepy just after 2 hrs of taking them. I will switch to a different medicine soon though, will see if it works or not.

Don’t worry my friend. You will be fine soon.
