I use Google sheet. I created my own template which repeats month on month. Aggregates everything each month, gives me savings and expense ratios. 
 Works pretty well for me.

Use Jupiter as a funnel for all expenses. It auto categorizes after the first use. Have been using for an yr now, all category data gets compiled neatly without extra effort. Pretty neat

Jupiter means that I need to create a bank account with them? And does it allow export to excel?

Axio is a great app, it auto tracks expenses from your transactional SMS, auto categories and has the option to export data to excel or csv.

how do you guys track expenses? I need to simply know how much I spent since my salary last credited. Where was it spent ..etc

I just read the  bank statement of my salary acc at the end of the month. This feels like manual effort. I wish my bank provided a better approach so that we can track these on the fly. But afaik none of the large banks in India have a built in feature in their app to do this.

Which tool/system you use to manage your expenses? How you keep your budget in line? How you see your expenditure habits?

Here are few things I wants in any app
- Great if I can integrate with UPI apps
- Can add multiple tags (social, recurring, etc) [must]
- Can show nice graphs of my expenditure habits
- Can export the data in csv or any accessible format [must]
- Can manage different bank accounts, for instance: XYZ is debited from this account, ABC from this..
- Can handle splits/reimbursement effectively: I don't want to show Rs 3000 expense, when basically it's a 600 one. So just a green 2400 indicating money I should get in return (something like that)


How do you manage? Ik simple GSheet might work as well, but WHAT'S YOUR SYSTEM to manage it?

Which Money management tool you use?

It's been close to a year since I am earning a salary and this is what I do:
1. Invest a little less than 30% straight into MFs. I have three ongoing SIPs- small cap, flexicap and a Large + Midcap fund. (Planning to increase the amount further into these and not start a new sip)

2. Max out 80C by putting the entire limit in PPF, this is on top of what is by default deposited into EPF.

3. A little (inconsistently) into direct stocks as and when I find or get to know about a decent trade opportunity.

4. An LIC ULIP plan that my father made me subscribe to 🙂 (hopefully will end in a couple more years)

Tips from experienced folks will be much appreciated.😄

I have a detailed expense tracker excel sheet put on cloud that I can access (and fill) from my mobile. Idea is to add an entry to it the moment/or atleast some point in the day I do some transaction.
The problem is I'm effing lazy when it comes to this.

So I am looking for an app that can help me create a monthly budget and also auto track my expenses and categorize them.

I'm cautious about security but I doubt if there is any app that will help me do this and not share my data. 
At this point I'm contemplating giving up on this criteria or build my own app.

The reason why I am not using expense tracker app cause of duplication transactions. 

Example: Paytm send it’s notification when amount is debited/credited. Bank sends the same notification.

I am trying to form a habit of tracking where my money is going.

I used spilitwise for a long time, but now it seems for everything you need premium version. Do you guys use any app to track your monthly expenses?

This should include everything from home bills, entertainment, medical expenses, trips etc. When I was single (back in 2016), my expenses were around 20k per month.

Now I easily go above 1L every month (without rent, we live in our own house). My wife also works and she has her expenses too.

Not sure what’s the reason for it though. We live frugally and don’t spend lavishly (atleast I don’t think we do). I barely buy anything for myself (I use 1k earphones and buy clothes from decathalon). My wife is the same.

Is this common when you get married? That your expenses permanently increase? Or is there something I should be worried about? TIA

20 K + 20 K in 2016 -> approx 35 K + 35 K = 70 K (assuming 7% inflation over 8 years). 
  
 Extra 30 K can be attributed to your lifestyle increase, going out more often , more food ordering , better furniture, gym, medicines, insurance premiums , vehicle purchase, and maintenance if not included etc.

Current Scenario:
I use Splitwise to record all my daily spends. I have made a few groups based on types of spend like "Wants", "Needs", etc.
At the end of the month I put it all in a spreadsheet to review the income and expenses.

Issue:
Splitwise is now not allowing me to use the App without Pro (ads are fine and I am happy to watch as I know they also want to earn but not allowing to add any expense after daily limit is nonsense). Also, I don't use any pro features so no point in investing.

Requirements:
I just need a simple app where I can add daily expenses. It would be good if I could categorise the spends into different baskets. A must requirement is that I could access all the spends at the end of each month. Good to have would be groups where I can add other family members.

Please suggest.
