Companies don’t gain anything from the take home assignments that the candidates submit. It’s highly improbable that the assignment you submit has the next big idea for the company. Even if the idea is great, execution is a different ball game. A PM’s idea is useless unless it’s executed properly. And if they have a PM who can execute properly, there are high chances that they would have come up with the idea as well.

So the real reason why the companies don’t reply after giving take home assignments is that either the position is put on hold or you didn’t get shortlisted. So either way, you brush it off and move on

Why are you leaving Razorpay? PM team is perceived to be good there?

PM Team is of course super good there. But, the chances lately are being given to people who pass out from elite institutions . There is no formal mentoring program to folks who wish to get into PM. The problem is , Ops while in touch with PM Folks at managerial level, ground level folks do not get to work with PMs. This is a serious career disadvantage. All leaders cry about innovation, transparency etc. but no one really gives a chance to people who wanna try something new.

People can thrive in a new career if only someone believes and gives them the first chance. That's how even greatest of founders raised funds for the company. Many VCs bet on Untested founders running startups and had a good amount of successes .
