Product Manager Salaries?
I have a overall experience of 6 years and recently moved into the product role in AI tech. I am being offered a CTC of 35 LPA. How is this as per the market? My research on Glassdoor and other sites gave me a big range, so I am quite perplexed about the asking number. I am planning to move out soon to another company, so help me community- how much are you making?

Sounds low to me. I think you can ask for something in the range of 45-50L

Definitely low, not sure how many rounds your startup has raised but even Pre-Series A startups pay more for PM roles.
Assuming 35 includes cash and esops.

Felt the same… could you help with a range? What do you consider med or high scale?

Just my opinion but look for comp to be around 50ish for anything Series A and above.
If below Series A, they won't have enough cash and esops is calculated is terms of %age, so like 0.5% of company for seed. Total comp might come out to be low in this case, but upside of equity balances out for that.
And please do thorough BGV for small companies, lot of things could go wrong there.

If you’re going for a SPM role, you should be closer to 40-50L
If it a a risky startup then even higher.
That said, I’d evaluate the business I’m joining as a top priority. Be sure the role is one that is really going to be driving value and not “We’re looking for someone who can figure out what we can do” or some vague / overly ambitious shit like that.
I had a friend interview for a PM role at Zomato to join their garbage “FITSO” team in 2020, which they soon after palmed off to Cure.fit

Yeah, I did - the range was still big to make sense.
Fellow colleagues at 2-3 yoe making 25 lpa.
At 6yoe it should >40-50lpa

Yeah, looks like that is a general consensus. Thanks for the reply!
Unpopular opinion:
Given the current scenario consider impact the role is making on overall product strategy rather than following the higher salary. When it comes of layoffs, mostly people with low impact roles and higher salary are the ones to get impacted first.
Again if the company is in infant stage ask more (Risk vs Return) and if it’s in adolescence stage ask less.
