Q for the Techies
When recharging on the telecom provider's app, I use GPay. Once I select the pay option on the app, it directly takes me to the amount screen of GPay to pay - I don't have to put in my GPay PIN to open the app. This should not be happening right? Every other payment, Zomato, Zepto etc I have to open GPay first, then put in the passcode at the payments page. Can somebody ELI5 this?
I don’t think gpay opens up when you recharge on telecom provider app. It’s the UI of BHIM app where you have to enter upi id that most UPI apps use so might seem familiar.
Didn't get you.
My default payment option is set for GPay UPI. I don't have Bhim app.
It is done via payment service provider apis which has in-app integration for these UPI apps(may be via intent which these UPI apps understand) and just opens a screen where your amount is already entered and you just need to confirm and enter your UPI pin. Totally normal. Also this is an optional way for integration and some payment service providers don't have this option at all and that may be the reason you are finding it on one app while not on another.
