Rant- Karnataka bill on Local Employment
Karnataka just decided to go full regressive mode! Karnataka cabinet just approved a bill that's basically saying "Screw you" to anyone who isn't a Kannadiga. 50% of management jobs and 70% of other roles RESERVED for locals? But wait, it gets better! If you're not fluent in Kannada, you gotta pass some arbitrary language test to even be considered. Because apparently, your skills and qualifications mean jack if you can't recite Kannada poetry or whatever. And here's the kicker - this applies to the PRIVATE SECTOR too! IT companies, startups, everyone's gonna have to play this stupid game now. Oh, and if companies can't find enough "qualified" locals? They gotta waste time and resources training people for THREE YEARS. Because that's definitely how you run an efficient business? The cherry on top? If companies don't comply, they get slapped with fines. Nothing says "welcome to Karnataka" like threatening businesses with penalties for not discriminating enough!
