Reality Check

Hi fellow grapeviners, I came across few posts mentioning i am earning 60+ or 70+ lpa having 2.5 to 3 years of experience but age is only 23 or 24. I know this is too good to be real. Some iitians can do but are these people real? Please answer because these posts make me depressed i don't know why?

What was your salary at 23?

i'm a '23 cse grad - offered 60LPA (fixed) + variable (up to 3x of base) as a quant researcher. this offer is strictly "off-campus" (i come from a tier-3 college) and is a result of me switching careers. am i high-balled? low-balled? note: i used to make 30-40LPA as a freelance writer in college before this.

You all might obviously guess that I'm speaking about the other two posts in which each of them in their early 20s making 50+ LPA and 70+ LPA respectively. Honestly curious, how do these guys get paid so much? I feel like salaries in IT industry are heavily inflated. I'm from EEE background, trying so hard to find a job in Data field. I've previously worked in my field for 3 years, but the growth seemed pretty less in the long run, hence the switch. Finding a job as a fresher (in IT industry) is so hard man. I'm mainly looking for the startups. They either ask for experience, or the pay is very similar to what I made previously in my field. (which is <10 LPA). Above all, I'm not even getting responses from companies for my applications. So yeah, how do people in their 20s make so much in the IT industry? Is it only FAANGand big corps or applicable to startups as well (like unicorns etc)???

So I am working at a startup for around a year now. Everyday I see, it feels, what am I really doing? Where is the life headed? Doing bare minimum or doing your tasks and fucking off isn't enough. It's expected that we outgrow constantly, as if it's this work that we can always think about and nothing else. At the end, am wondering if it's still worth it? 1 day it feels that let's just quit it! Next day I feel, okay, I do want the money. I ain't looking for suggestions here, just wanted to see if anyone else felt this way

All of my feed is now filled with layoff posts from ex faang employees. The same feed was filled with posts showing off joining gift last year. What is happening. Why is it happening. Who is responsible for this. I am totally not sure. Will there be a 2008 like crash, this time because of overhyped tech sector ?
