Not an iitian but i think these are some rare numbers afaik. If you want to know about compensation and need more data points then look at leetcode compensation section. Afaik for base salary 12+ lpa is common for freshers and 2-3 years exp you can get 24-30 base more than that is rare

You all might obviously guess that I'm speaking about the other two posts in which each of them in their early 20s making 50+ LPA and 70+ LPA respectively.

Honestly curious, how do these guys get paid so much? I feel like salaries in IT industry are heavily inflated.

I'm from EEE background, trying so hard to find a job in Data field. I've previously worked in my field for 3 years, but the growth seemed pretty less in the long run, hence the switch.

Finding a job as a fresher (in IT industry) is so hard man. I'm mainly looking for the startups. 

They either ask for experience, or the pay is very similar to what I made previously in my field. (which is <10 LPA). 

Above all, I'm not even getting responses from companies for my applications. 

So yeah, how do people in their 20s make so much in the IT industry? Is it only FAANGand big corps or applicable to startups as well (like unicorns etc)???

So I am working at a startup for around a year now. Everyday I see, it feels, what am I really doing? Where is the life headed? 
    Doing bare minimum or doing your tasks and fucking off isn't enough. It's expected that we outgrow constantly, as if it's this work that we can always think about and nothing else. At the end, am wondering if it's still worth it?
    1 day it feels that let's just quit it! Next day I feel, okay, I do want the money. 

I ain't looking for suggestions here, just wanted to see if anyone else felt this way

Been there, but money is very important especially for a middle class family, for most of us we are earning 5x more than our parents at least and have huge expectations from families to provide them with good life

27 Male ,got an offer of 20.5 lpa.

Most of the people I know here at grapevine are making way more and friends in my circle are making around 35-50 lpa.

Now I am confused,I have a lot of questions in my head.

Did I slack off?

Or did I do okay?Cause I was avg in college(7.6 cgpa) tier -3 and started my job at non-dev role.

I thought market was down hence I was happy with 20.5 lpa,but now I see folks making more money.

My progression : 
3 lpa to 5 lpa (Accenture for 2 years) service based S.A.P basis job.

Drone tech startup: 
ML Engineer (2.3 yoe)[8-12 LPA]

Now I will be joining an MNC : 
As Sr.MLE offer in hand (20.5 LPA)

Overall I have 4.3 yoe.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I might be insecure,I cannot talk about this problem with my parents or friends (or anyone around me)

I was earning 15 LPA at 6 yoe. Going by your standard I should have been crying every day!! In grapevine, top 10% earning people of corporate India keeps flexing their package. If you keep comparing with them, you will always feel miserable.

I wave to her, she takes her time to recognise me.

She is also moving to Bangalore for a new role at Goldman Sachs.
I couldn't ask her package, anything would be better than 40k
She is not even MBA, btech grad. Top women IP University college ( yes you know the name)

Grapevine has become like the epitome of people flaunting unrealistic salaries ( the bubble will soon break )🤐,So thought of why not post some realistic ones based upon the Y.o.E range for the IT folks from  our knowledge and our interactions with our friends and colleagues.
We can exclude very niche skills here and see where  everyone stands.
I can begin. ( Have  considered just the base pay and not the variable or esops/rsu here )

1-4 Y.o.E : 4-8 Lacs
5-8 Y.o.E : 9-20 Lacs
9-12 Y.o.E : 21-35/40 Lacs
13-16 Y.o.E : 35/40-50+ Lacs
