Not best for professional growth
How so? Money is great , can see some good learning opportunities as well.
Social interaction gets a back seat , Collaboration suffers , impromptu discussions are lost, motivation can take a back seat as well. Discipline can also suffer as schedule become too flexible.
Plus of course you can’t get off from outside world .
Has it pros and cons but love that I get to spend time with family, pets above everything.
I've found myself to be more productive somehow or maybe I didn't give two shits earlier.
It's a challenge of course but keeping every task visible and charting out into mini-projects helps to an extent.
Separating brain storming meetings from check-in meetings helps a lot too.
It's the best thing in the world(if you work on well siloed projects where you have the control). You can always nag about it saying "not interacting with people enough" or throw bullshit like "won't help professional growth"(wrong btw)
I work remote as a senior ML engineer, i wake up whenever I want. I drink beers/smokeup for lunch just to challenge myself at working. All the while I've been insanely productive and untouchable in contributing to company velocity.
Worst part of remote work is you'll never wanna go back to life without it.
Not good in early stage of career, also depends on comoany where you work at, if they have pro remote culture then it is best
