Is switching from SAP Basis to ABAP a good choice? I'm currently working as a Basis consultant and I'm looking forward to pursue ABAP. Is it a good decision to shift to ABAP Developer?

Hello community, This post is for getting guidance/opinion on the role switch from support role to development role. I really need help from fellow colleagues and exp professionals to proceed further. So, I had 2.5 years of experience in SAP domain and recently I have switched internally (within the org) to the software engineering team that has complete back end work to do for a foreign client. Tech-stack is Java 17, Eclipse Jersey, MySQL, MongoDB, Azure Cloud and some other technologies too. Parallelly I have been a part of an online platform for software engineering courses (eg. Bosscoder etc), where I learnt DSA, spring boot, HTML, CSS and JavaScript with React framework. The front end engg. part is not covered yet, but a part of the curriculum. Now my doubt is, I am planning to work for some months here and in my resume, stretch the starting time of the SWE role, to shadow down the SAP experience. Like 4-5 months experience shown as a year or so. Tell me if it can be a good strategy to reduce barriers of not having experience to join SDE roles in prod-based MNCs. (I know, that I will have to showcase deserving skills, based on experience, in the next company to get an offer, but still!) Secondly, can the backend framework (Jersey) become a barrier to the job switch to java spring boot roles. Some people told me that experience matters and not the frameworks. I need ur opinions. Lastly, I am recruited as a Senior software engineer, I will have to prove my worth not just to other companies, but internally within the team. How can I learn more in less time, to equalise the skills with the job role, not 100% but even 60-70% would work. Where to start, what to take care?!

Hi folks, I’m having 8+ years of experience as a SAP ABAP consultant. I’m planning to switch to functional side. Now I’m confused to which path to choose. I mostly worked with MM/SD/HCM/FI areas. But interested to learn SAP EWM as it’s having good demand. So my query is can I become SAP EWM techno functional consultant without having prior experience in SAP WM/EWM ? Or better to go with modules that I’m already having knowledge on ? However, I had knowledge on SAP WM as well. Please guide me .

Currently working as an ABAP developer in my organisation. If I decide to follow the same stack, what are things that should be kept in mind for growth? (Possibly in case if I decide to switch to a private job in the future)

I worked as a support engineer (service desk engineer) for my last project in hopes of moving internal teams I stayed with the team even though my primary skill sap basis has nothing to do with it. However now I'm out of the project due to a budget issue, now I'm tagged to another project for payroll team (HCM/sf) for which the kt has yet to start its already been more than 45 days with no work to do. I wanted to do a switch but not sure if I'm capable enough with this type of relevancy experience, is sap basis worth it or shall I just look into other career opportunities.

Which product companies are good for SAP ABAP? Looking for product companies because I have this idea that generally they pay better than consulting companies. Apart from SAP ABAP core, I also know ABAP on HANA, AIF, OData, IDoc, web service, OOABAP, HR ABAP, a little bit of Success factors API, CPI and Postman. Can I expect 20 lpa or more with 5 YoE? Which are companies having good culture and pay both?
