Inspite of so many "better than earlier govts" reforms in the last 10 years...the govt hasnt done much needed reforms in the income tax regime.

The govt is doing a few good things like dissolving inept psu's, selling off entities like Air India (privatisation), etc.
But when and how  are we going to increase the tax base?? Why is govt failing to do so? It is high time we rationalise it. We cannot dream of becoming a prosperous country with such poor policies in place

Smog is really bad in Mumbai

- The Bombay High Court has criticized the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for failing to enforce the ban on plaster of Paris (PoP) idols for Ganesh Chaturthi.
- The court has asked the Maharashtra government to ensure all municipal corporations impose strict conditions on 'Mandals' organizing Ganeshotsav.
- Despite guidelines from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) since 2020, PoP idols are still being used.
- The court emphasized the need for penalties to make the ban effective, noting the lack of deterrence.
- The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on September 6 this year.
