Was this... Not common knowledge? Cannes, Met Gala, even Oscars, you've got to buy tickets to all these places?? RRR's teams had to buy tickets for Oscars. The Met is literally a charity event which raises money by selling tickets as are other such award functions. Its why you don't see "The Luxy Cosy Oscar for Best Actress powered by Red Fm, Co powered by Facebook, bedroom partner Durex"
Even Indian award functions started selling tickets to commoners a while back, there's a section at the back

Honestly might make the ceremony more interesting, it's actually pretty boring... I didn't realise how much I was tuned to expecting SRK do lungi dance and Kapil Sharma take jibes at the audience that when nothing of this sort happened in the first (and only) Oscar award show i watched, I literally felt cheated
