Hey folks, I have been working for the past few months on the centralised internal search tool for all the companies and I need your honest feedback and feedback.

Problem: Today, every company uses "a ton" of tools- Notion, confluence, Drive, PDFs etc. and the information is scattered and hard to find.

Solution: I (along with my co-founder) am working on a centralised search tool where you connect all of these tools as integrations and voila you find it. Plus, we are also adding a layer of asking questions, "What is our churn rate" Instead of finding a document and then navigating through it to find the answer, you will get the answer right there.

Hey fellow comers, just showing my progress. I will launch by next month hopefully.

I've completed my work for:

1.	⁠Streaming text
2.	⁠Formatted responses
3.	⁠Citations and websites

Currently, I'm working on finishing:

1.	⁠Chat history
2.	⁠Documents library
3.	⁠LLM settings

I'm using the Vercel AI SDK, Next.js, Firebase, and Bing to ensure setting up and running the project is as straightforward as possible. I hope to support more LLMs, like Claude, Mistral, and Gemini, to offer a mix-and-match approach.

Although I've accomplished a lot, there are still a few more weeks of work ahead. Unfortunately, I've failed to raise any funds for my project and am fully dependent on the open-source community for support.

Note: VCs told me I can't build perplexity so simply because I don't have that much skills or high enough pedigree. They are literally blinded by the fact that any average dev can also build such an app.

The previous interviewees have suggested to read about - regression based modelling, personalisation, tailored recommendations, re-gen, search algorithms.

1. Result quality decline- For any content, I generally end up getting lots of spam results, essentially spammy SEO links. 
2. Shit ton of ads- Almost first 5 posts are ads for any generic query. 

Hate using it. Someone needs to disrupt Search business soon and bring in new business model. 

Ps: I know about Neeva and few other companies attempting to change it. I sincerely hope they do. Also OpenAi is leading competitor to search  now.

[Rant]- Google search has become really bad

Hey everyone I am currently in 4th year looking for jobs or internships. I am really interested in AIML and have made a couple of projects in ML but I do wanna make projects that are relevant to the real word and can give a bit of experience and look good on my resume and hence increase my chances of getting a job. Sny suggestions as to what all projects I can make in AIML.

How do you think the "mentions" capability within the "company" section in the grapevine app work ?

It's not like someone is tagging a company like they can tag a user, right !!

Also, a substring match would not also work since the company name can be quite generic and then you could have irrelevant posts..

And keeping a human who is doing manual annotation also does not make sense because it's literally not scalable...

With the encouraging developments, I wanted to crowdsource the best use cases so that I can utilize it even better

For me: 
1) Personal: Using it for movies. My prompt is typically: What genre film I want, what are films in that genre I like, they should be produced after year 2005, and they should have a rotten tomatoes audience score above 85%. It works beautifully well. Some of the best movies I'd never discovered.

2) Work: Building draft replies and being able to save them to Text Blaze. Stuff like "Not interested" or "Set up meeting" (which automatically includes my Calendly link etc.). Makes going past inbox very smooth.
