Should I consider interview with Probo (event trading app) ?

I have 6 years experience. My current base/fixed is 60 LPA. (I also got a 5 lakh bonus and 5 lakh of my ESOPs vested this year making my total vested about 30 lakh. So the total comp is 70). I'm being offered a senior engineer position in an early stage startup (as part of the founding engineer team). They haven't given an offer yet. Being early stage, the emphasis will most likely be on ESOPs. How do I evaluate this and set my expectations? (If I were to switch to a mature company, I believe the hikes usually are between 15-20%? How does this work for early stage startups?)

It's always something to look forward to in a startup. But wanting to know if it's actually meaningful. Are you making good money from it? Anybody around you who is making good money from it. This would really help a lot of us in startups know what to expect 🙏

I am in discussion with some very early stage startup and if things work out then will be part of the founding team. They have promised to give me same salary as the current company’s salary but give ESOP. Is ESOP worth it if you are founding team member? The founder has sold his previous company so higher chance of success it looks to me. Is there any case where person made huge money on ESOP?

Hey all, I've recently recieved a couple of offers in the product management space and would be grateful if y'all could help me weigh in the pros and cons. Context: I'm a Tier-1 engineering grad with <1 yoe. 1. Product analyst at an insanely profitable, bootstrapped startup in the gaming space (industry of preference). The product and strategy are best in class and would be a great learning experience. I would be working in the team associated with their primary cash cow business unit. However, I've heard that the working hours are slightly long and wlb would take a hit. Also, my pay would be quite high and if I were to make a switch for an APM role, there would be very few options that would give a hike over this given my YOE. 2. Associate Product Manager at Flobiz, a Fintech pivoting to be a neobank for SMEs. This was my first offer and on informing the HR that I would be taking up the other offer, the co-founder who had taken my final interview has requested me for a chat. The work culture seems great with a strong alumni network currently in the firm. They are ready to match the pay as well but ESOPs would probably not be liquidated any time soon. The brand name is inferior as well, compared to the other firm.

How is CheQ as a company? - The culture? A person i know has a offer letter of an APM I have doubts of their business models- Difficult to make money if you are giving cashback. Seems to me its Cred way back in 2020.

Lot of Developers are leaving the company (specially frontend) because of low salaries, limited scope of work and Return to office policy. Company is silently creating an atmosphere where developers are leaving on their own. Company is also not planning to provide any good pay raise in the upcoming appraisals. Time to leave the company :(

I have got a full time job offer (SDE 1) from a startup who are offering good pay and wfh. But I was uncertain whether I'll get this offer or not so reached out to another startup and after screening they have scheduled technical interviews. They are offering the same pay and wfo in Bangalore. I've accepted the offer from 1st company by considering multiple factors like product, wlb, culture, growth, etc. So now should I appear for interviews in the 2nd company or I should tell them beforehand ? I feel it will be a waste of time for that company and it'll be hard for me to tell no in the end as they told their offer and benefits beforehand, and I had reached out to them with interest. What should I do ?

Hi all, I recently received an offer from a startup. They have included esops in that but the strike price will be the current price. Is that a common practice? I though the esops granted have a strike price of 0 or very close to that. If i take them at current price then I only make money from the next upwards valuation only. Need your advice Viners!
