Developers leaving Razorpay
Lot of Developers are leaving the company (specially frontend) because of low salaries, limited scope of work and Return to office policy. Company is silently creating an atmosphere where developers are leaving on their own. Company is also not planning to provide any good pay raise in the upcoming appraisals. Time to leave the company :(

How come razorpay is paying less..how much are they paying to PMs and SPMs? Isn't it one of the best startups around?
They have lot of cash reserve from previous fundings and running expenses are running from their annual revenue well. But they are over optimizing cost now and now making an atmosphere where developers are leaving on their own. For Frontend Devs there’s a very little good work in few teams, rest of the FE Devs just work on non-productive tasks entire year.
Company also knows that they are not in a phase where they need top notch 45 LPA Frontend Devs where 10-20 lakhs one can do the same so they are making them to leave by putting them in PIP or not giving them raise saying macro economics blah blah.
Thing is lot of developers joined when company was not even unicorn, took risk, expecting salary will anyways increase in future but now when company is at 7.5B valuation, they realize they don’t need those good developers anymore.

Business teams also getting no raises !!! Screwing up the culture and shitposting and pretentious branding has increased by the founders and their bunch of founding team sycophants.. While joining thought Razorpay going to be a generational company. All I see now is a regular okayish startup with no real innovation to do !!! Market's on freeze else wouldve moved out long ago !!!
I’d recommend to interview a lot. You’re for sure going to land at a better place than razorpay. Had 3 reports of mine that joined in the last 3 year boom phase and all have left for greener pastures from the team.
It’s going to be a toxic place for a bit so recommend you leave if you’re not someone creating the toxicity.

No wonder the Razorpay HR called me up yesterday and offered me a salary of max 25L for a yoe of 8! 💀The company seems to be lowballing nuts!
Their payroll app is a mess. While the UI is great, functionality is bad.
Feedback from a friend who used and moved to keka now.
No!
Last year and this year, we asked at every townhall/all hands about this but they always give just a politically correct answer.

They need to diversify away from the low margin PSP business ASAP into other higher margin fintech services. They are the undisputed leader amongst Payment gateways but e-commerce is not growing fast enough to justify a 7.5B public listing I feel. But, the company, tech and products are insane in my opinion.
They are doing good revenues but very cautious since onboarding paused and affecting their revenue . The other products they re trying to diversify and its a WIP .
