Should I quit my job?!
I am a PM at an edtech startup. The company is not doing well and my boss is not a good leader. Although company has a runway of 2 years. For the past 3 months I have been doing program management. No product management related work at all. No one appreciates you here. It's mentally challenging to work here. No road map for myself. No appraisal. I'm just going on the job for salary. For the past week, I have been thinking about quitting and taking a break. Then look for a job. I know the market is tough but I have runway for 4-5 months. I have a total of 3 years of Product experience.
What should you guys suggest. I really need your help here.
These days you can't take a call on the market...it may take 1 month or it may take 6 months too...would advise you to not take a risk unless the culture is absolutely horrible to even work..if it isn't, then stay put and try your best (put 60-70% bandwidth on finding a job) and get out asap.
Dont.. am sure you are well paid. Take the money in anorher 1 to 2 years they will close themselves. You will get your break.
Every job will come with a set/phase of work that we don't like doing.
You're saying that there's no product management related work. But, you can try to do it on your side as well (I'm not saying freelancing, but within the company). Also, if you would like to stay for more time at the company, make use of this time to understand different things within your company (assuming it's a big org and there's a lot going on), and try connecting with a lot of people as well.
Just be there, let me tell you just be there.
At the end there is nothing called productive work as long as you are getting paid in current market be grateful.
Find job over the weekend ( will take almost same time it might take when you are searching full time)
