Software Engineering or IIT Madras MBA

So, I have an admit from IIT Madras, currently working as a software engineer for a product based company 11Lpa. The jobs not too great but not bad either Hybrid model, chill team, great wlb no pressure or anything. I am up for appraisal next month even if i get a minimum of 20% hike and prepare for next 6months and switch with a minimum hike of 50% my ctc would be around 20 which is the average numbers in madras . Not taking cat again, so its now or never for MBA. Should I continue with job or do MBA. Any suggestions. TIA.

look for your interest and future prospects in software engineering, if you are comfortable in development and it gives you satisfaction then only continue with job.

For me I loved coding and have good interest in software development but my experience in building the platform and development wasn’t good. I started reading more economics and finances books and now talking with lots of friends in management about their experience in mgmt and how I can tune it with my expectations. Currently I’m more inclined for mba. Likewise you can too spend time and explore, it will take 2-3 months to fully understand your desire but its worth it considering your future

I think doing an MBA would definitely add value and you can probably move to a product manager role soon
