Standups are meant to be short
I’m part of one standup where they start discussing in details. I’m like why???
People trying here to flex here by doing in details
is this happening to you all?

Our team (of 5) standups have not lasted longer than 15 mins. Shouldn’t get into details and waste someone else’s time

Suggest them to keep it short.
But how?
Have it async. Automate slack message at a particular time, seeking updates. Let the team member share the current work status, mention blockers, if any. Post half an hour, get on a call, and discuss ONLY BLOCKERS mentioned in the update thread. It should not exceed 5-10 mins. And that’s how you save yours and your team’s time.

Sometimes it lasts 45mins

Nope

I thought this is quite common. Never seen textbook standup which ends quickly

Yes even I get irritated when standups go for long at my workplace
