If you are from Tier 1 city, you can think of Renault Kiger Turbo CVT.
Don't go for AMT or Naturally Aspirated Engine variants of Kiger.
Amaze is also a great choice.
Please do a thorough test drive before deciding.
All the best.
Not from tier 1 city!
No renault and Nissan showrooms here, hence not considering.
Test drove - Altroz, Baleno, Fronx, i20 and Amaze.
And decided to get either Amaze or i20, issue with amaze is no hill hold assist and outdated interiors.
Can live with interiors, but worried about hill hold :/
Amt automatically have push forward feature by default so the car wont go back on its own.
Problem with it is, the accurators which change the gears programatically, will keep pushing to lower gear in an uphill climb leading to higher rpm.
So if u want to driver in a medium himalaya range, u will get irritated with driving at first gear with high rpms even u try to switch to manual +- gears.
If u life in western ghats sort, of an area, amt will work.
Else go with cvt for ur 40 highyway to himalayas.

i20 sports IVT in 10 L ? I don't think that is possible . Maybe Baleno or Altroz or Tiago iVT. Amaze has a really weak body. Do yourself a favor by not driving Amaze on a high speed road or highway.
i20 is coming around 11 after negotiations!
Can stretch budget upto 12L.
Any other suggestions ?
Looking for CVT transmissions only.

I like Magnite CVT a lot. However, Altroz DCT sells a lot of car and thus will be easier to maintain in long run IMO.

Honda Amaze is a decent option. Go for it if you want a reliable and comfortable AT car

I haven't found it to be a problem in practice. Even on uphill road, as long as you are on some forward driving gear, it stays in place, and doesn't roll backward.
But do some test drive on upward sloping road to get better idea for your driving skills.
