why
Recently both reduced their prices significantly. Both are safe cars, plenty of variants to choose from. Powerful engine. Spacious. Durability. Gives you enough cushion to race past 160 without a worry. Fuel efficiency is something you’ll have to compromise though but if you are big on highway drives then both are standouts in their segments.

Bina requirement ke mat khoj bhai, share how you will be using, your needs like more space, fun to ride, SUV vs Sedan, manual vs automatic, turbo vs NA engine, how much you want features or pure no fuss riding experience. etc etc, all these things would help you decide better and select better car as per your needs

Elevate looks like it is from 2015. Old and boring interiors, ugly design and exteriors. VW or Skoda will give you better value at this price range.
Creta/Seltos if you want the most features in an suv.
Hyryder/grand vitara if you want suv with mileage. Hyryder is preferable because toyota has better service and resale value.
Verna/city/slavia/virtus pick your poison if you want a sedan
Carens if you want a 7 seater.
Nexon - I don't trust Tatas quality control or after sale service for lower end cars.
Kushaq/Taigun/Astor - cars are solid, but the brands may leave the country if they fail and that spoils long term ownership.

which one
what are your requirements?
No. Of family members?
Daily running/ commute distance?
Type of fuel- P / D / CNG / Elec. ?
Do you prefer performance or an economical car ?
Either low Maintenance or mid/little higher maintenance?
which type? Sedan, hatchb, suv?
There are actually a lot of options depending on your choice. I was in a similar delimma few weeks back.
1. Sub 4m SUV- I would suggest go with xuv 3x0. I recently bought it. Automatic great to drive, peppy engine, good mileage saw 12 on odo in city driving in delhi.
Nexon didnt feel very good, being a owner of harrier tata service is a hit or miss. Plus disnt want black interiors rejected it. Also 3x0 seemed like a better package to me.
2. Mid size SUV - I personally think creta is a good option. I have a personal bias against kia due to my dealer experience😅. But from what i feel seltos is more of a enthusiast car and creta bit more towards comfort with a softer suspension. But Kushaq/taigun was a no go for me strictly because of space in the rear seat where 3 adults cant sit comfortably. Plus they will be launching a facelift of both the cars pretty soon.
Other competitors like MG Astor is a good option good build quality, interior feels awesome, but mileage would be pretty bad expect 6-8 in bangalore bumper to bumper traffic for automatic(these values were given to me by mg service center itself).
Elevate i test drived it handling is superb but not value for money.
Hyryder and grand vitara not a great fan of build quality of maruti cars, so it was a no go for me.
3. Sedan - havent research about it a lot but i think city, slavia are good option. City also comes in strong hybrid.
3xo has the best features and performance in the price range but looks absolutely ugly
