Now it has become clearly evident that there are telegram groups for off campus placements. Almost all students cheat when it comes to OAs. Also asking easy level problems in interview many times help the cheaters get selected on any interview.

The real question is what are recruiters doing? Do they not care much about these? Now in my college the culture has become such like everyone knows if they don't cheat they won't be selected in OA. It is disheartening to see that this thing is not always checked during interview and many underserving people seep in the company because of poor interview process( they ask leetcode hard/codeforces 1600 level questions in OA and will ask to reverse a linked list in interview). Is this system ever going to change?

Hi everyone, I am a 2023 graduate from tier 3 college currently working in a service based company but I am not really satisfied with it because I believe I could have grabbed better opportunities in campus placement but due to stupid rule of TPO they did not let me seat for further companies and I want to learn new technologies but I am not really getting opportunity here. So, i am looking for better opportunities.Anyone got suggestions where to apply and what to prepare. Also should I do any certification .

Just received a hackerrank test link from a company I'm interviewing for. I haven't tried that platform for solving any coding challenges though. I came across people being pissed about hidden tests and absurd results that are failing their submissions. Role is Frontend, focused on JS. Looking for suggestions to clear this without any issue.

I have been working at my current company for about a year now. I joined the company with the understanding that I would be learning a lot and being paid less than market value. At that time, I didn't mind being paid less; I joined on 3.5 LPA in Bangalore. After that, in December, I got an appraisal, which put my CTC at 4.4 LPA. Since everyone on my team knows what I'm capable of, I asked for the hike.

I have been doing a lot of valuable work, such as automation, and I've filed patents as well in my final year project at my university. I have also been assigned all of the challenging tasks because my team knows that I am capable of handling them.

I recently asked my manager for a raise. I asked for a 100% raise, which would bring my salary close to 9 LPA. My manager said that he would consider my request, but he eventually came back with an offer of a first 15% and then 25% raise.

I believe that a 25% raise is still too low. I am looking for a job where I am paid what I am worth. I am confident that I can find a job that pays me 9 LPA or more.

I just wanted to know some second thoughts: am I doing something wrong in the negotiation, or should I approach it in a different way?

Not to denigrate others, but I know my teammates carry 2-3 years of experience, but I'm still the one coming up with new ideas and how to solve the problem, and I'm delivering it. Many times, my manager even said he always has higher expectations of me than others.

The excuse my manager is giving is that it doesn't matter; if you join on a higher package at some other place, you'll have to return the joining bonus here of 1 lakh (I'm leaving before 18 months, so), plus after paying taxes, the equation becomes equal, so he's suggesting to wait until December and then look for other options.

Recently interviewed with Uber Bangalore through a referral.
Made it through 3 rounds before being rejected. This was my first interview at a big tech firm.

The process was as follows - 

Round one - Online Assessment on Code Signal platform. Completion of the OA was necessary and contained 8 questions to be completed in 30 mins. There was 1 easy level leetcode question(in my case it was the leetcode two sum problem) along with 7 MCQ which were based on Android situations / scenarios. 

Round two - 1 hour long Zoom Interview call with an existing senior SDE working for the HCV team. Question asked was a variation of the leetcode 17 Problem (Letter combination of phone number). Test was conducted Code Signal platform with screen sharing enabled. 

Round three - Now this is where I was thrown off. This round was also supposed to be conducted on Code Signal as per the email from the HR but went in a different direction. The interviewer this time was a senior SDE from the rider app team. The interviewer seemed like he was not in the mood to conduct the interview and kept a poker face throughout. The task given was to download a simple project of a note making app. Open ended questions were asked as to how would you make this code base better and also you need to add an edit functionality. The app was so damn simple and without any standard architecture or tooling so I started giving suggestions but that is not what the interviewer wanted for some reason. Then he just directed me by saying that just add the edit functionality. Which was again a rather open ended question as the existing functionality to save and retrieve was being done very poorly. Finally finished the interview by adding a few lines to the existing implementation to edit an existing note.

Software Engineer 2 - Android Interview at Uber

You will solve all questions in OA, yet still have to depend on luck to get the interview call. Someone who doesn't know how to traverse an array cracks 12 lpa. Some girls enjoy 3 years of B. Tech, no skills, no internships, no GitHub, no experience yet still crack 12+ lpa, yet hardworking girls who grind straight for 3 years won't even get shortlisted for OA. You drop a hall of shame interview, yet there is still a chance that you might get the offer. Randomly shortlisting students for OA. Nowadays some companies are asking DP/graph/tree questions in OA for a 4/8 lpa packages??!!!!! Some companies prefer incompetent female candidates over skilled male/female candidates, and the list goes on. 

It feels like 70% Luck and 30% hard work and skill. Why is it like that??? What actually happens behind the scenes amongst the interviewers and peeps from the HR department?? How do you actually end up choosing someone with 0 skills and 0 experience over a skilled and experienced candidate??

I’m wondering if there are any cybersecurity jobs in India for entry level? 
Most of the requirements i see for entry level roles are in between 3-5 years of experience. 
I’m actively looking for some roles in security engineering but only got 1+ year of exp and it’s been extremely hard to get any interviews.
