So, I'm facing a bit of a dilemma here. You know those pesky power cuts? Yeah, they're becoming a regular thing. 
Now, I've got this inverter doing its thing for the whole house, but honestly, I just need a quick fix for one room. You know, keep the lights on, the Wi-Fi humming, and maybe the cooler fan running for a few hours. 
Any bright ideas on what I could snag to make that happen? Let me know your thoughts! Thanks a bunch! 🕯️🔌

I am joining a new company which is remote first.

Does it makes sense to be in banglore?

Given that if i move to my home town, I will save 95% of my income.

I am confused because I also like banglore and dont like the idea of living with my parents.

But if i stay at home for 2 3 years, I would be able to buy a property in banglore when i move back in future.

Does it makes sense to be working from home in banglore

I live in the top floor(terrace just above) of a apartment and the heat here is making me crazy.
My bed is hot, my fan isn't giving enough air, it's hot air everywhere.
I in general sweat a lot. When I go to sleep and wake up, my entire bed is wet from sweat and can't sleep for few hours because of the heat.
For the entire day, I am shirtless and still can't take the heat. 
  To make matters worse, electricity goes at anytime even in the middle of the day. That time, it feels like sweat won't stop at all.
  I don't have an AC here or power backup and the heat is fucking with my mental peace. Even the water from the filter is hot water🥲

Bangalore heat with power cut is making me mad

I am a middle class guy working as a senior engineer in one of the product companies. I belong from the north-east, and I am the only child in my family. 

Since covid, I was working in a wfh setup. Recently, my company has ended work from home for everyone, and I am supposed to move to Bangalore very soon or quit. 

I am an active user on all social media groups on Reddit, Fb, etc. For the past couple of months after seeing so much of negative news about Bangalore, Especially the high population, skyrocketing rents, the auto unions, corruption, cut-throat competition, discriminative news, traffic issues, etc. It makes me nervous to be honest. My wfh here was pretty chill, and I had a very limited social circle here, but was satisfied since I could spend most time with my mom and dad. 

Im very afraid now about what should I do next, shall I quit the job and search for wfh, or shall I make my move. I don’t have any acquaintances there, no friends, no idea about what I’ll be doing next, how to start house hunting, or job hunting. At this point I am miserable and overwhelmed to think about all of this. 

Anyone who has gone through all of these, If you can share your 2cents, experiences or thoughts, about how you dealt this phase. It will be really helpful for me at this point in my journey. Thanks in advance! 🙏🏻

Ok, so I couldn’t find any solution to this online.
I use a monitor along with the MacBook for an extended display. When the power goes off, the monitor turns off and I lose the tabs open there. Is there a way, I can have all open windows auto switched to my laptop when the monitor is off? This works if I unplug the hdmi but I don’t want to be doing that every time power goes off - and yeah this is like 2-3 times in the first halves of the day :(
PS - I stay in Bangalore. :)
PPS - I don’t want to be put in UPS for this. Already use one for the WiFi.

Hey Everyone! I am currently working from 2BHK home and facing multiple issues to build focus in my work. We have only 1 AC so my Mom and Dad (works from home as well) are always in the same room where I work. I have asked my dad to buy another AC but he has already refused me.  Similarly, I can't move to another room because that is more spoilt than my original one having access to balcony where maid washes utensils and a washing machine is present. What can I do?

 1. LG washing machine with dryer – ensures from machine directly we can put clothes back into cupboard without having to dry! 
 2. Double door large fridge – two of us, but we have a larger high-quality fridge; it helps us cook and store for 2-3 days at a time 
 3. 32Ltr Microwave with grill option – wife bakes on the weekends

I got an offer recently with remote working.
My company is from Bengaluru and I'm living in Bengaluru.

The previous company also offered work from home and I worked from my home which is located in Bengaluru for 2 years straight.

So, I'm planning to live for a month in my village.
