Switch to tech from product?

I feel like I’m having a reverse rite of passage here. My previous work experience was in retail(analyst sort of a role, but not really. Point is, it was useless and I didn’t really learn much beyond getting good at interacting with people across the world). I recently got into product because, tbh I didn’t really know what to do, and this seemed decent. So I did an internship, and eventually landed a job. Anyway, don’t get me wrong. I do like product, at least the idea of it, but I’m not necessarily a fan of the products that I’ve worked on and am working on currently. But ever since I’ve become an APM, I’ve had a chance to get a good look at how the tech side works and how it all comes together to make the product work and I really like it. I never stuck to coding during college because I hard a hard time understanding the bigger picture and did not go beyond html css and basic for loops. But ever since I’ve gotten into product and had the chance to work closely with the tech team, I’ve become really fascinated with how it all works together and the ways in which all the optimisations and tweaks help better the product and in turn the user experience. And I’ve also come to realise that I don’t exactly like having so many calls and meetings. And also in the future, I’d like to build my own product, so I figured it’d be nice to learn to code and have a good grasp on how backend works so that I can start building my own thing. So, eventually, say and year or two down the line, would it be a bad idea to switch to tech full time? And yeah, this is an impulsive thought, and I’m not acting upon it(besides learning JS on the side), but I’d love to hear opinions.
