Knew this as concept but didn't know the term. Learnt it last week on one of my posts here Have you faced this in any of your previous companies?

I'll go first
Company I was with during Covid times, with no increment for 2 years.
I had been good at work, so the VP Sales (my boss's boss) decided to make me the Single Point of Contact for Pan country new partnerships.
I was handling only one of the regions at that point.
I was surprised and elated.
Pinged my boss to discuss this promotion (and possible money 🤑)
He said, you'll get the money once (if) you perform in the role.
If you had questions about my abilities, why did you promote me in the first place?
Similar case here 😅
In my case, I only saw it when I was reviewing the pitch deck slides.

I had gotten 3% hike for a promotion. Felt humiliated.

Whoa Engineering head 🙌
Did you move out of the company then?
Got promoted with less than inflation rate hike, feels like a joke when company is earning billions yet can’t even give decent hikes nowadays

Way to common! They can have offsites, but oh we are too poor for hikes.
Here take a pizza party this Friday
