Tech rant
I am a fresher 2023 graduate and have been doing this (applying for jobs) for almost a year, everyone said you have to do internships as it is necessary so did 2 internships one for a year and another for 6 months but apparently no one counts internships as experience even jobs that had 1-3 yoe as requirement and now everyone's hiring 2024 grads as freshers (I tried to look for another internship but there were none during the time of placements).
I am now tired of this field, many full stack devs don't know shit outside Javascript world and many of them can't even use tools like git properly and are so cocky of themselves.
Saw an SDE on twitter who apparently has 6 years of experience, doesn't even know how to configure multiple SSH and says managing multiple ssh is a downside. A women dev (cause in India you have engineers and female engineers apparently) doesn't know about sidebar cache and calls it a bug and she's in google. and If I try to roast these people with my real name there's a whole cabal of Banglorians who will grab their macbooks inside third wave coffee and start tweeting against me after aggressively drinking their Chocolate mocha frappe.
Just go into any random tech twitter space no one seems to be talking about tech it's always about DSA, interviews, LIFE IN BANGLORE, which cafe they visited.
I let myself believe tech was my passion and worked hard for but Indian techies and companies are worst, this generation thinks they are better than their predecessor but follow the same politics everywhere even when it comes to Tech communities (who tf does politics in a community that produces open source code wtf).
They talk about networking and creating a community all the time but can't even respond to linkedin cold dm and blame the sender by nitpicking about the format 👏👏 and then they'll go on post the screenshot and rant how it's the sender fault to even try to network with them with a message that isn't written from their own blood.

Try targetting startups they don't usually focus much or require professional experience, it seems like you are looking for job profiles in FAANG similar companies, that will surely be tough. My suggestion would be to expand your search domain and start a job.

you should remove maybe from your name. The post is not about where to apply jobs but more on toxicity and dumbness of these Banglore techies. P.S. I have mostly applied to startups or mid level companies, first of all they don't have any openings for entry level programmers. Also I am placed atm

😂😂I can see the reason why everyone wants to reject you. Also removing maybe from username won't change much for me, I'm making more than FAANG sde2 while still being an undergraduate. Best of luck✌️

there's more like plenty more like I can write a book but I reached the word limit here

Can understand. Actually this time(tech bubble burst) is tough. Companies are picky. If it was a normal time I am sure you would have multiple offers.

don't mistake my anger because I didn't get placed and I don't need any sympathy on an anonymous platform since it amounts to nothing. Even if it was a normal time and I was earning 50 LPA the toxicity would be still apparent, 2020 and then layoffs just accelerated all this stuff this was bound to happen, been noticing this since 2019

Agree, in the Indian tech space, most of the SDEs consider themselves to be gurus just because they know DSA well. Those who are really doing well and have a wide range of knowledge in different CS fundamentals domains, they don't bark out in the public.

Completely understandable rant - but there is light at the end of the tunnel You dont need to give two fucks about these communities/ bhaiyya- didis and even the entitled SDEs. These are all result of hype cycle which has died anyway. In my experience, i have met some of the smartest and humble people in tech ( in Bangalore) and my learning curve has been great because of these people. You will not find them on Twitter or linkedlin or in third wave, they are found building great engineering systems sitting in their homes/offices and quitely living their life. My 2cents- either build and launch products of your own, doesn't need to be original just copy and launch OR find a job in some tech based startup ( like confluent etc) where you will find actual techies and not the show-off junta

Hey fellow One Piece enjoyer! I am in first year of a tier 2 college in Pune.
Any tips on what to learn to have the highest upper limit on earning or any tips in general?

What the hell is 'sidebar cache'?

sorry for using that term out of the blue without explaining what I meant by that, there's no such thing as sidebar cache what I was mentioning was cached data in a sidebar, let's assume you have a sidebar component that may contain dynamic data that e.g follower count, it would be logical to put that data in a cache store since sidebar is probably going yo be opened frequently and you don't want any operation blocking that

Got it. 👍

I have seen it degrade over a decade. I feel the problem of techies here vs the US or Europe is that they are truly passionate about technology. Many folks that I know including some who have worked with me, do it for the sake of doing it. I remember once we wanted to solve a problem and that needed rewriting parts of the Ubuntu bootload sequence, and we actually did it! There was an excitement. Most devs I meet at events now are just jargon blabbering dudes with airpods and MacBook M2 pros trying to justify the cost of their system for coding Javascript.
IMO there is a polarization happening. 5%-10% real good passionate people who end up leading the tech teams as CTOs (like mine currently) and then a vast majority doing it just for money without passion.
Maybe if life allows you and circumstances are favourable, you can try going outside the country or do remote work for some good tech team outside.

Whenever you guys do some crazy stuff like this, do write a blog and share on social media, really need articles like these out there.

Top tier rant 👌 Maybe try for companies abroad. Slightly less number of shitheads

I think you have enough knowledge now tell me how to store session cookies on localhost

I use HTTP cookies with httpOnly flag true, cookies can be stored in local storage or session storage but I don't like doing that as anyone can append a script in your app and access that cookie

First rejection i can say. But I won’t because everyone learn from solving problem. You can access cookies which has httpOnly flag true

Problem is the expectation. I used to be good, then I started interviewing and all I was asked was DSA. Now all I know is DSA and tbh open blind and you will find out this is same everywhere, not just India. Except the linkedin lundfluencers all countries have this issue

Bro I didn't even mention DSA once why are you making it a DSA conversation? Also the SM I mentioned is twitter don't know why people are talking about linkedin influencers, who takes them seriously anyway?
