Hello all! I am working as HR Head in a growth stage startup in Bangalore. So many people here talk about compensation, culture, growth etc. Happy to answer questions related to HR/Culture/Startups.
Today’s startups are shaking up how HR is done. We see that, too, at HeyCoach: while HR used to remain more or less in charge of hiring and company rules, the field is now much broader and incorporates aspects of employee development, their health, and the ways they interact with one another. Now, it seems they are purely in a strategic business partner model. Has anyone else pick up on this?
please tell me this isnt an advt for a HR startup... if this is an advt. i wish you luck. Hope your idea is sucessfull.
employee development, health, strategic partner model... wow... One can dress up a donkey with all the good makeup, it is not going to become a horse.
Ground reality - this is all nonsense. HR is and will always be in India the rangoli team. Their role in a company is same as that of katrina kaif's role in suryavanshi. Why do i call them a waste? because we have more employee supply than Jobs. For every job opening there are at least 500 qualified people. Most jobs in India are clerical. They can train a replacement real time. The recent death of employee is a proof that HR's have no role beyond conducting fancy dress activities and anthakshari at the office.
If HR had any sort of role in India, there wouldnt be a leader to come on stage and say we need to work 70 hrs a week, employees would not suffer heart attack or killed themselves due to work pressure.
But In public, lets keep saying how HR is a strategic business partner.

We all know the general notion about HRs. But have product managers in recent fast growing startups become redundant as well?
What's up with the HR-Tech folks? Anything cooking in this industry
Recruitment is a 200 yr+ old industry
The problem is not that start ups have not tried it, the problem is the massive mindset shift required in the recruit...
