The Only Possible Downside to GrapeVine

While grapevine has its own benefits (that I am frankly addicted to and love using), I do feel that the fact that our Identity is hidden makes it easier for people to bully or harass or just simply use people as a punching bag for stress relief.

For instance, The other say I saw a post by a person where they were seeking advice to improve the ability to communicate better with their toddler. While everyone was being helpful in the chat, the post owner would simply just go on to abuse or berate the people for no reason. It just shows that not everyone deserves to be a parent.

I saw another case wherein a person was particularly pretending to be a woman and asking people to have slutty chats for 50rs in the DM.

I know, "Report" is a viable thing, but I cant just help but to marvel the civic sense and ubringing.

Most people just dont know how to respect others. And yet, they keep wondering why they have a miserable life with 0 social skills.

"it easier for people to bully or harass or just simply use people as a punching bag for stress relief." Um...That's how I have been using the internet for the past 15 years now.

Congratulations

It goes both ways, you should also not take anything said to you on the internet personally.

I’ve been here for a long enough time My experience is this: people are actually more helpful, nicer, when their identities are hidden. That’s the shocking thing for me

But the 10-20% assholes will always be there, they needed to be weeded out. Hopefully by moderation

You aren’t wrong, we have an example in the comments.

I tried helping these poor-souls with logic but they failed to understand. Best solution them for is - tell them to shut up in their language itself, that works best else they feel powerful and keep repeating the same behavior.

[Long Post] I think I understand why Grapevine works well.

It’s therapeutic because you can share different aspects of your life that you can’t talk about on other platforms. For instance, you can't criticize the Ola CEO on LinkedIn, demand justice for the Kolkata rape case on Twitter without ge...
