To folks who are already Crorepatis/Millionaires, Why are you still working?
What's you take on working ... Is it something that we don't get about the work or money? What's hidden here from us who are earning for their survival and hoping to become Crorepati/Millionaire with the job... Please share your take here for us all đ
My Dad moved to hometown after retirement. Got depression after not doing much for year and relatives were staying close buy đ. He has more than enough money not to work.
Now he does farming, bee keeping and is helping local religious committee in construction with an orphanage. I have never seen him healthier, this busy and happy.
I'm still working because I don't know anything else. I come from a business family and I don't want the headache of running my own business. People have been critical of this viewpoint but so be it. I know my strengths and building a network of any kind isn't it. Anything else I like doing, I do in my free time.
In fact since I'm working despite not needing it, I've been able to educate multiple people in my extended family and help some others avoid debt. So that's another motivation

Somewhere in the same boat ... Noone talks about downsides of owning a business...
One crore rupees is not enough to be financially independent especially if you have a family to support

At least 5 is needed⌠without kids ..
I am assuming u mean dollar millionaire which is roughly 8cr
You cant retire at 8cr, unless u want a frugal lifestyle.
However why do people work post 5-10 mil is beyond me.
I think they are product of capitalism and draw their self worth from work.
People saying u need a purpose in life and then saying that purpose is work. Lol

You can retire comfortably at 8 cr. Put 5 cr into fd earning 7% interest which will fetch you 35 lpa. Remaining 3 cr in the stock markets
Yea technically u can but considering kids education and travel and other luxuries.
Its about having that peace of mind.
But yes u r correct

Each man needs always needs a purpose. Sitting at home is not an option. A rephrased question rather: Give youâve borderline achieved final freedom, why do you willingly engage in office crap (MIS, asap, pls fill the sheet, whatâs the ETA etc etc)? You could take up a slightly relaxed job or do some for the community
One crore is not enough to last a lifetime for a family. You need at least 5 to 10

Coz life not just about earning & spending money. People must work to make this world a better place.
Itâs fun and gives something to do/something to look forward to. Atleast thatâs the official answer
Deep down Iâm just shit scared wondering what people will think, how will my life change, what will I tell people or how would i interact with them knowing I am jobless. Right now I dont think about money but I am scared what will happen if I have to start counting & managing money

Cuz we wish to be billionaires. I know where this goes, once I have enough I'd want to be a multi-billionaire but I guess that's the rat race we all talk about.
Crore is too cheap to retire flat costs 25cr+ in mumbai , honestly would reture if I enter 1000-10000cr. So as to live a chill life

Wow
I'm not there yet but I'll work because there is a benchmark called 'billionaire' that I can chase.

1cr is not enough to do nothing for the rest of your life. $1M also may not be enough if you have a lavish lifestyle (look up FIRE. It helps you decide what THE amount is).
If you've hit your FIRE amount (I haven't), I am guessing that gives you freedom, but it still does not give you purpose. If you are an engineer who's never done anything else, you'll find purpose at work.
Ideally, you'll have a laundry list of things that give you purpose outside your work and you get down to it once you have financial freedom,

I think the question was more of , why are you in corporate and not doing leisure activities or just keeping the house (which is consuming in itself)
What is the exact amount of money that makes someone a crorepati? Also, how many crores are we talking about here? Because according to Mumbai expenses, one( 1 family) can survive for a maximum of 5 years with just basic expenses on 1Cr.
1 crore is hardly a big amount to not worry about survival my dude
Only thing it does is to not take unnecessary shit from people at work cause you don't have to worry about getting fired knowing you can survive for a considerable amount of time before getting another job. I'd say in Indian context 5+Cr is something to not worry about ever working at all..

Work brings meaning to life.
Money is a byproduct, if you do your job really well. The satisfaction of doing your work or Dharma is immense.
Once you earn a lot of money you realise itâs not a driving motivation, the motivation to help and satisfaction of doing your duty is main intrinsic motivation
Thatâs the reason why people despite having millions and billions still work as otherwise theyâll decay
