Unhealthy ChatGPT usage destroying my career in the long run?

During my B.Tech, I balanced my studies with active participation in clubs and committees, and also engaged in sports and exploration. Aspiring for a non-core placement, I didn't participate in hackathons or apply for internships. After graduation, I pursued various paths, including preparing for the CAT exam with only three months of preparation time, but I didn't succeed. I then applied to several companies for data analytics roles but kept making new mistakes in each attempt. In one instance, I was rejected for oversharing my passion for data science in a final interview. To improve my chances, I optimized my resume and completed significant projects, but these efforts haven't yet yielded the desired results. Realizing the challenges of relying on a single target, I also started preparing for the GATE exam. Reflecting on my journey, I recognize that I should have applied for on-campus opportunities, as off-campus job hunting is challenging and unpredictable, regardless of one's preparation. Tell me your story? In order to get some hope that we can make it and it's never too late

Has anyone come across people losing job because of chatgpt? I think many people foresee that happening but i am more curious to know how do you feel about that in Indian tech sector.

I have a remote job with 250k USD/2CR base salary and get to travel for free internationally 6 times a year to beautiful places in Europe. My manager is a saint and I don’t think I will ever find someone as good as him. I am considering leaving this job to startup. I would love to hear everyone’s unfiltered thoughts on this please 🙏🏼 Firstly, this is not a fake post - Luckily I have been one of the few people who were early in AI to train very large LMs, so I have an edge and get paid crazy money for it. Why am I leaving? Over the last one month I had time off from work to build a new AI capability for coding assistants. It’s a technological breakthrough and my AI is 10X cheaper and has 100% codebase coverage for automatic feature development, bug fixing and automating 3rd party integrations into your very large codebases. Others are working on it as well, but I have achieved higher results on public coding assistants benchmarks(SWE-bench). I believe in this breakthrough and technology, and this is the absolute right time to build it, not 6 months ago, not 6 months later - too early and too late. This could potentially be my next moonshot or I could also fail, but learn a lot in the process and not have regrets 5 years down the line in not pursuing a breakthrough in AI that someone down the line is going to monopolise. My financial situation is good and bad - I have NW of 3.2 Cr, but they are tied in 2 real estate properties - I am aware that this is stupid to not have anything liquid. I have a running home loan of 1Cr to the bank and 30 lakhs to be paid to my Dad, these two are my biggest mental blockers. My wife(married early this year) earns really well as well and I have some ~20L liquid, so day to day runway is of easily 1 year. Finally, I don’t believe that it I leave my current job, I will ever get another international offer that pays this well in cash and has remote work given how to market has changed recently. I am trying to disassociate from a greed mindset and looking into a potentially very high exponential growth/learnings. Hey I'm jobless desperate in getting placed in any of the start ups I've done my graduation via distance education in 2018 passed out with 7.1 cgpa ( a lil backdrop - failed in 12 due to family issues has to quickly start working on general stores through friend climbed up the corporate ladder) im skilled with excel and cbap and have 4 years of experience into operations and client services Simultaneously upskillin with powerr bi n SQL Please please I'm the only dependant in my family need a job based on the above requirements on immediate basis.

I'm from the cursed batch , 2024 which is about to end within 2 months , after I'll be at home with no placements in hand , it's all my fault coz I didn't study, I have just 7.02 cgpa and college didn't even shortlist my name , so instead of having a year gap , should I do mtech from local college so that side by side I can grind req skills Like there are 2 sides of this First one , having a gap (let's say 6 months) and trying hard off campus to crack a company. Second one , doing mtech from local college, and in that time period trying to get off campus, why off campus, it is obvious local college= no placement Now gate preparation also req time , and this year gate exam has already been done . So waiting for the next gate exam will be no point . Thanks in advance 🙏

I often feel that I am under qualified for my job and have been able to clear all the rounds by pure luck. I think that if I go out in job market I won't be able to again bag such a good offer... Does any one else also feel so... How to overcome with this feeling...

I was working in company for 1.5 years and most of time i was on bench and not working. Tech stack - React js , Html, Js , Css In September i resigned because I was going through very tough time in my personal life. Now Gap is 10 months Suggest me something on this please 1 ) how should I tackle HR for justifying my gap 2) should I apply as a fresher ( not feeling confident because I was bench most the time) 3) How to get interview calls and how should I apply.

To give a brief background, I did BTech in biotechnology from a tier 2 college which I soon realised didn’t have any interest in. Currently 24YOE I took up a job as an operations analyst at a series b funded startup. Worked on internal tools + gsheets + SQL(basic select queries). Became expert of this internal tool but realised the skill and knowledge isn’t transferable. Got promoted to project analyst within a year and started handling internal teams + client comm. gave 1 year to this position. Currently at 8LPA Now I am looking to switch and unable to understand which way should I go. Have interest in business strategy + data related work.

I see jobs being there, but even the entry level jobs are requiring experience. I saw a associate level job posting on linkedin for a startup asking for 4-6 years experience. This is in line with the recent article at The KEN. Are people really ready to work for low salary for high skills? What does this mean for the freshers, job switchers/career switchers? Are we all doomed for now? What's your take on the market?
