I think they probably meant ‘Contract’ instead of Intern to specify that its not a permanent role? You should probably read the JD for these maybe they give clarity

Recently set out to hire interns and had a really strange experience

Went through about 170 CVs. Most were shabbily formatted - which is okay, I understand most people aren’t that serious in college.

But then after shortlisting and setting up interviews:
- Multiple kids just did not show up for the interview. They did not even write a mail excusing themselves. Or reply to any mail from me about them missing the call.

- Some of them literally turned up for the call on their phone. They’re mostly well to do, and definitely have laptops. But just casual. 

- This reduced my selection pool to literally 8-9 interns from 180. Of these too, generally saw most of them had too much overconfidence and arrogance about them. Barely went into the depth of the answers, and would over-portray their contribution in past projects/internships, without being able to explain what they really did

I am genuinely shocked and taken aback. These were all Tier 1 college kids, and I just did not expect it to be so bad. A shock for me, and a future shock for many of these kids when they get into the workforce!

Key Responsibilities:

1. Content Creation:

6. Newsletter and Email Campaigns:
• Develop and send out regular newsletters to the subscribers.
• Maintain email lists and segment them for targeted communications.

7. Event Support:
• Assist in the planning and promotion of events and activities.
• Provide on-site support during events as needed.

8. Monitoring and Reporting:
• Track and report on the impact and reach of communications efforts.
• Use data to make recommendations for continuous improvement.

9. Intern Management:
• Supervise and mentor interns within the Communications

I am in my 8th Sem of B.Tech from a tier 2 college. I have built a startup from college, incorporated the entity, got in incubated by Microsoft and took it to shark tank Indian season 2 finals. But we couldn’t raise funds.

Fresher with good and relevant internship experience, I'm getting rejected for some job roles where I am overqualified(not being cocky)

For job roles, I'm excited about there's work ex needed but one seems to be giving me the job, how will I get work ex? I have sent LinkedIn DMs, cold emails and what not but still nothing. I am getting rejected or worst no revert.

I have worked and want to work in the marketing&brand side preferably learn from senior folks in the industry but seems impossible in this market.

Hey All

I graduated in 2021 out of DU and parallely converted my internship with a preseries A fintech startup for a full-time role, pay was less that what I would've got in campus placements, but I prioritised steep learning curve or a 15k per month salary difference.

After spending 15 months reporting directly to the ceo in a 150 member team, I resigned. Initially the pace was enjoyable, later on it became toxic.

Moved to Bangalore and joined another start-up, didn't take a huge hike since I just wanted to start somewhere. After working here for 7 months, now I have much for focussed idea on what my strengths are and I'm working with experienced folks (avg 8+ years). I'm a 22 year old working in the founding team of pretty good product startup (funded by Kunal and bunch of other angels).

Currently I'm at 6LPA, and would reach a 12LPA in thr next 3-4 months subject to fundraise, what I would like an opinion on is if after completing an year and we don't raise a round, do I stay? Or do I go back home and prepare for Gmat or CAT, then do aan expensive MBA by taking a loan? Or do I find another startup asking for a 12LPA? or do I try for a established company role in program management or partnerships or something?

I don't have any family money or business to fall back on, but fortunately I didn't take a loan for my education yet, and my parents would be okay to give me another 2 more years to figure things out.

Would appreciate help from anyone who've been in a similar journey or just any piece of advice.

These days people get internship in there second year of college and continue as an intern for 2 years. Companies don't allow them a full time position citing college regulations. I think this is unfair to candidates as they do full time work at interns compensation and position. Do you think this is justified?

Hey folks, recently have found myself on career crossroads. Not sure what kind of career paths generalists have after certain YoE. Are there some generalists on the platform with more than 6-7 YoE who can throw light on what kind of roles are available to generalists after a certain level? I'm a final year industrial design student and for the past 4 years, I've grown an increasing interest in management. In the course I'm studying right now, I would say it was more than just design, and it was also pretty similar to a management course (I saw similarities because I also took a one year Product Management course in between).

People advised me to take up an MBA after my bachelor's, but I'm clear about working for a couple of years at least before even deciding if i want to study more, and good MBA colleges prefer work experience anyway. 

Now, since I'm in my final year, there is a mandatory internship semester, which i thought would be a good opportunity for me to try and get an internship in the management sector, which can potentially lead to a job in the future. And no, there are no limitations on the type or field of the internship. 

Now I'm slightly clueless about where to find management roles, what kind of management roles, do they even offer management internships, what do i have to do to be credible enough to land an internship in the management sector and many more questions like this. 

It would be greatly appreciated if anyone (preferably from a product company) to give an insight or a roadmap for me to refer to before taking the next step.

I recently received an internship offer for founder's office intern at one of the smaller us based start-ups with remote work , this is the first time I m gonna wear this hat, i have 1
2 product internships but here i am gonna do everything whether it is tech, marketing, content, email management . There is 15 days probation period which is very crucial and 1 month internship,how can I shine out . Any advices as ita very important for me as a stepping stone.
