Don’t you get into conflict of interest issue with current employer? As most Indian companies having the employment clause as you cannot do anybody other work beyond the company.

What should I do to reach 100 cr in 10-15 years?

I'm an ambitious person who can work his ass off. But I lack direction, I don't know what I should do to get there.

My current portfolio split up:
6 lacs - Nifty 50 MF
5 lacs - FD
10-20 lacs - real estate

20 lacs to 100 crores

1. Wake up at 4am 
 2. Plan the day ahead by brainstorming new ideas for profitability 
 3. Go to gym, invest in your body 
 4. Reach out to your customers before your morning coffee, helps set the tone for the day. 
 5. Rob a bank 
 6. Repeat till you reach your target of 100 crores.

What is stopping you from starting up your own company?

I am 27, and I have a well paying job in Bangalore. 

I want to quit this job and try my hands on entrepreneurship. I feel like I can do much more than what I am currently doing and have a more fulfilling life this way. 

Unable to see a lot of risks I have a 2 yr runway with savings. Parents don't have financial dependency. If everything fails I can restart my life in the next 1-2 years.

Me and my friend are desperate to start a business. We’ve got no experience, no previous background though. We have a ton of ideas, constant thought ( to the level that it sometimes causes anxiety) about quitting our jobs and starting on our own.

We don’t even have a company registered yet.

Both of us earn handsomely as of now and work in MNCs. 

The liabilities are very minimal for either right now.

We plan to start a consulting business and then branch out from there towards a product, because profitability is important for us.

Imagine this, you have access to FM radio, just as a police officer, all time in your hand and you could say anything to the entire Bangalore but only people, whom that information is relevant, will hear you instantly. 

Now, imagine everyone has the same superpower of FM radio. And, FM radio and system has ethic code doesn't let you share bad/harmful/hurtful.... All relevant information in sync with all people in the city.

I am a 2023 passout btech graduate. Currently I am working as a full time SDE (Full Stack) in a well established startup (8 years old , Series A funded). It's been nearly half year here.

My compensation is 10.5 lakh base + 4.5 lakh performance bonus + free lunch and snacks + Insurance (Including parents) benefits 

I am pretty good at DSA (around 2000 rating on leetcode, 4 Star at codechef in 2nd year itself, 2000+ dsa problems)

I have worked in 2 startups as an SDE intern during college days and completed 5 internships overall out of which one was a US based startup. Also, I have many publications under my name over the internet.

I had many offers when I was graduating from college.

Most of the time people say, "Hey, you have done so much so Why are you not working in a big tech". Well I always wanted to work for big tech during college days but after I started working in startups my thought process changed  as here I got the ownership of the product.

Now it has been nearly 1 year since I started working in startups. Should I give it a try for big tech now?

I have a remote job with 250k USD/2CR base salary and get to travel for free internationally 6 times a year to beautiful places in Europe. My manager is a saint and I don’t think I will ever find someone as good as him. I am considering leaving this job to startup.
I would love to hear everyone’s unfiltered thoughts on this please 🙏🏼 

Firstly, this is not a fake post - Luckily I have been one of the few people who were early in AI to train very large LMs, so I have an edge and get paid crazy money for it.

Why am I leaving?
Over the last one month I had time off from work to build a new AI capability for coding assistants. It’s a technological breakthrough and my AI is 10X cheaper and has 100% codebase coverage for automatic feature development, bug fixing and automating 3rd party integrations into your very large codebases. Others are working on it as well, but I have achieved higher results on public coding assistants benchmarks(SWE-bench).
I believe in this breakthrough and technology, and this is the absolute right time to build it, not 6 months ago, not 6 months later - too early and too late. 
This could potentially be my next moonshot or I could also fail, but learn a lot in the process and not have regrets 5 years down the line in not pursuing a breakthrough in AI that someone down the line is going to monopolise.

My financial situation is good and bad - 
I have NW of 3.2 Cr, but they are tied in 2 real estate properties - I am aware that this is stupid to not have anything liquid.
I have a running home loan of 1Cr to the bank and 30 lakhs to be paid to my Dad, these two are my biggest mental blockers. 

My wife(married early this year) earns really well as well and I have some ~20L liquid, so day to day runway is of easily 1 year.

Finally, I don’t believe that it I leave my current job, I will ever get another international offer that pays this well in cash and has remote work given how to market has changed recently. I am trying to disassociate from a greed mindset and looking into a potentially very high exponential growth/learnings.

Fresher, work at an edTech startup (seed). Had 3L as ESOPS, standard vesting. Resigning after one year, have two options:

a) Surrender the ESOPS and add 75k to my F&F
b) Retain ESOPS and wait for liquidity events

Startup is in EdTech and creator domain, raised seed fund(again) recently.

Very confused. What to do? Which things to consider?

A little about myself: 22, just graduated Btech CS from tier 1 college, got placed in a few tier 1 companies, baniya (relevant), and good at engineering in general ( won several actually honourable awards internationally, from government of India, some IIT random techfests, etc). Point of telling this being to get some credibility for the readers so that they don’t take me as a young dumb overconfident 20yr old. (maybe I am?)
I really want to earn money, probably in my genes, my father wants the same for me. My dad has a decent wholesale business (around 1cr per year profit) and I don’t mind moving in it as well. It’s recommended to stay sometime in corporate to learn the nitty gritties of life and other aspects. I don’t mind that either.
Personally, I want to get into entrepreneurship, but again it’s easier said that done, how to start, idea, implementation and everything else it’s just the tip of the iceberg. People of my age (some of them being close to me as well) have started their ventures and have got funding upto 500k USD and it makes me jls.
I’ll be probably joining an MNC and will stay for around 1 year and then see how it goes.
I’ll be really helpful if fellow grapeviners can shed some words of wisdom on how to go on here to a startup/business/high earning journey?

Is there enough upside to starting your own product vs having a good stable job which pays very very well?

I don't really want to do 14 hour work days where I'm building a product while working in the company also.

Hi, I am 23M, working as a software engineer in Bangalore at a Fintech company. My current CTC is 45LPA with in hand salary is around 1.8 L.

Since I came to Bangalore after finishing college, my life has been going up and up only. Everything is getting perfectly aligning month by month. Got a very nice salary increment after 1 year of working. The tech and projects I am working on are challenging. Although my WLB is not that great. Best of all, I got into a relationship with a girl with whom I was friend for like 9 months. 


As a self satisfied person I think my life is going very well. But what next?

Therefore I took 1 week leave to think about what next and after a lot of thinking I have decided to start a business/startup. Will share about my startup in some other post. But I am taking a leap of faith in myself and planning to leave my job at the end of December. I will slowly start to make the base for my startup until then.
