I got to know that i paid extra tax as I made mistake while filing my investments / leave encashment 2 yrs back. Is there a provision to recover / claim for extra tax paid before? Kindly help me 🙂

I have selected old tax regime and I have declared around 1.80 Lacs of investment. Now my tax is not getting deducted in monthly salary but from the declaration I am not actually doing any investment. How should I resolve this issue.

Last year(23-24 financial year) Total Tax deduction was 60k. My total investment in 80C(PPF and ELSS) 48500 and in 80D -16000. So how much return I can expect after filing tax.

I had joined new org in July 2022 last year and had submitted my previous org form16 and salary slips with monthly tax deductions shown in them.
 Now today my tax consultant informed that since I had not submitted form 12b to new employer, the 250000 basic exemption has been counted twice and now I have to pay 30 percent of 250000 ie approx 80000 rupees!!

I don’t understand this as I was under impression that each monthly tax is being deducted and there is now way there can be shortfall in my tax deduction.

Please help me if this correct or incorrect and if it’s mistake on my part any way to reduce penalty.

Hey folks, if someone changes a company midway in the financial year, does it make sense to submit the financial details of your previous employment to your new employer? Asking because your deductions are taken into consideration separately in both the organisation if you don’t submit the details. There are 2 cases here
1. You submit, and fix your tax for the rest of the year
2. You don’t submit, save on the actual tax you’d have paid otherwise, and then pay during the ITR. That extra tax you saved, can earn you handsome money if you are in the 30% bracket 

What are the pros of the first approach and cons of the second approach?

I have seen my trader friends to party donations to pay less taxes. As per the law we can donate 20% of our gross income to any party for the tax deduction benefits. Do any of the software engineers also donate to party?

I run a small pvt. ltd. company where i accept my freelance payments, in my company's 26AS it shows there are some TDS that was deducted. My understanding is that this will be credited to my current account somewhere around now or march? Is this true/will i actually get that money, if yes by when? Please advice.
