I joined as a fresher last year in August and I'm working on the .net core 6 space. Major work in my team is backend .net, kendo ui, and complex hangfire based scheduling processes. 
Whenever I look for opportunities outside or even within my company, i see everything is for java, react , angular. 
I think by working here I'll not be able to switch in other domain and forever get stuck in the .net space. There are not a lot of jobs in this space

I see a lot of people think here that a 3-5 year experience candidate has a right to demand 40-50 lakhs pay.

Is it really the trend now? Am I unaware? I see pay range in 6figr & other websites but don't see the pay scale of 40-50 very often except for full funded startups, MBBs.

What is the reality of pay range by professions for exp 3-5 years?

Recently did capstone with GrowthX. While I appreciate the program design, structure etc.

Few things which are really broken and need immediate fix if they want to have the capstone product going.

1. Quality of people is nothing close to top 1%

2. AP and UD does not invest enough time with teams on soundboarding before the final assessment call. The mentors and OIRs are people who are good but not as much depth

3. The resources could be made better for sure. Most people don't know basics of stuff like growth modelling and having resources around that will help save time

Maybe it could be just me who got unlucky with the team I got but even across the cohort I could see the quality not being anywhere close to top 1%.

I think it's another community led startup which is in cross hair between 'monetising more' and 'keeping the quality of people intact'.

I just checked that after joining almost all communities, I was removed from few of them. 

I found this from the list of communities from the drop-down "Post to". Yesterday I was able to view the communities in the said drop-down, but after I updated today, I don't see some communities and when I go to them from Search bar, it shows, "Join".

Idk guys, But I see some users commenting on every post on GV. I know 10k 🍇 gets you AirPods.. so is this grape farming or you’re just genuinely having knowledge on everything!

Who are actually using GV?

I am a 6 yrs experienced Software developer and part of a mid-stage startup. This is my third job; I have been working here for 3 years. I was involved here as one of the core engineers at the start in developing the overall platform, After that, my growth as an engineer stagnated for 2 years . 

Constant importance and priority are given to business requirements and hacky work getting pushed to production in the name of fast iterations and business impact every week. 

My engineering manager lacks proper engineering skills and doesn't respect engineers even after their impact on the company and constantly keeps saying the engineering team doesn't contribute to the revenue of the company despite us pushing work that improves business positively. 

Last year around November, around 80% of the engineering team was subtly suggested to start looking out for work (basically a soft layoff) because management was too scared of a social media backlash

Due to all this,2 years' worth of technical debt has accumulated on the overall codebase and apart from giving justification for every code improvement that we try to make there, we still have to work on business/product requirements. 

My growth as an engineer has stopped and I am worried about missing out on the latest developments in the tech industry, especially with AI in the picture, and want to make my skillset somewhat AI-proof. I have come back to hands-on coding this year , so that's a positive start. I am considering taking a 3-4 month break after resigning from my company to study, develop side projects, develop a portfolio etc

Has anyone else been in this boat ? How did you come out strong?

So I ran these 2 surveys on GV. The one on the left is for millennials and the other one is for GenZ. 

I really thought that the GenZ narrative was false. Guess I was wrong.

This is such a stark difference. What do you think is the reason for this?

P.S. I was born in 2000

Joined Fintech(Paytm) last year with 3.5 YOE - 31LPA(Base)
[Current] LaidOff but Got an offer in a SaaS company during my NP - 31LPA(Base)

YOE - 4.5 Years

Most of the companies I interviewed for were not able to match my current fixed because of which I took this offer. Now I feel like my Base is low as compared to the market average in terms of YOE which makes me worry about my career’s progression. Do you also feel the same? 

But at the same time I am grateful that in this job market, I have got a job. What do you think? Am I rationally thinking here? I live with my parents and they are partially dependent on me. I hope I have made a correct decision.
