I'm a 28-year-old married (Wife is also working) individual currently residing in Kolkata, where the living expenses are relatively low. I have 5 years of work experience, and my current compensation package is 28 lakhs fixed and 3 lakhs variable (approximately 1.95 lakhs in-hand salary after deductions). With no liabilities or responsibilities, my monthly expenses are around 40,000 INR, and I manage to invest around 1.5 lakhs per month.

Currently, I enjoy a stable job and live with my parents, who take care of most of my living expenses. However, I'm considering the possibility of switching jobs and moving to another city, which would require me to bear the additional costs of rent, food, and other living expenses on my own.

Question: Given my current financial situation and the potential for increased living costs in a new city, should I explore a job switch and relocation? Or should I continue with my current stable job and living arrangement in Kolkata, where my expenses are minimal? What factors should I consider when making this decision?

Bombay’s the financial capital of India and Bangalore’s the Silicon Valley of India. Which one would you prefer and why? Would your opinion change w.r.t age (eg. 20s are better in Mumbai vs 30s are better in Bangalore?

Got a job offer which is asking me to relocate to bangalore. I’m currently based out of Gurgaon and not familiar with the rent/amenties scene there. 

What is a good salary range to live a good life there? By good I mean 
- Living in a decent (subjective ik) society with some basic amenities like gym, park, pool (would love that) etc. 
- Dining/Partying at least once a month. 
- Going out to some place atleast once a week
- Having a maid for cooking + cleaning


Other expenses would remain same across cities (digital products/shopping etc)

Let's face it, bangalore is expensive, in terms of value for money. 
There are so many infrastructure issues.  Travel issues etc

But at the same time, Bangalore is the major leagues for tech in India. 
Events, meetups, startups all are prevalent mostly in Bangalore.

Given all this, and having a choice on where you wanna stay, what would you choose?

I am moving to BLR next month. I want to have some advice from people already livin there. I will be working near Indiranagar and am in the middle of figuring out the best place to stay. I am confused regarding both the area and kind of stay.

Kind of stays: CoLive/PGs or 1RK/1BHK 
Area: Near Indiranagar, Domlur, Embassy Golf View or areas which come near Purple Line i.e. Kadugodi, HopeFarm, Hoodi, Kundalahalli, SeetharamPalya.

Would really appreciate it if you could give suggestions, provide any sort of leads or even share your experience.

I would be moving to Bangalore for the first time next month. I am a startup founder in early 20s and our current team strength is 4 founders (to go to 7-8 by end of year)

I was wondering what would be the best location in Banglore to set up a small office (within co-working spaces mostly) alongside getting a nearby 3BHK house for the 4 of us

* Flat would be for 4 of us, and tentative budget is 60K collectively
* We don't need to visit The Koramangala-indirangar area frequently but would like to stay close
* I don't know if possible but an area with greenery+ less traffic would be great (for ex- a gated society would work well)

Any suggestions on area we should look for?

I hate it but my company forces me to move there. It's one of the worst cities i lived. Weather and food is amazing but the quality of daily life is just not worth it with traffic, gundas, the constant digging and of course the supreme land owners demanding inflated rents

I might get an offer from the company which is ready to give me good amount of money, but it's in banglore , I do wfh right now 2+ exp, how much should I ask so that I can live life to the fullest there, here is what I have calculated:
My expenses in HSR layout: around 50k
My investments: around 50k
My saving and other stuff to enjoy my life there and send money to my parents also: 60k
Total: 1.6lakhs per month atleast
For that I need to have 24lpa as a base.. plus I need some relocation bonus.

I am a middle class guy working as a senior engineer in one of the product companies. I belong from the north-east, and I am the only child in my family. 

Since covid, I was working in a wfh setup. Recently, my company has ended work from home for everyone, and I am supposed to move to Bangalore very soon or quit. 

I am an active user on all social media groups on Reddit, Fb, etc. For the past couple of months after seeing so much of negative news about Bangalore, Especially the high population, skyrocketing rents, the auto unions, corruption, cut-throat competition, discriminative news, traffic issues, etc. It makes me nervous to be honest. My wfh here was pretty chill, and I had a very limited social circle here, but was satisfied since I could spend most time with my mom and dad. 

Im very afraid now about what should I do next, shall I quit the job and search for wfh, or shall I make my move. I don’t have any acquaintances there, no friends, no idea about what I’ll be doing next, how to start house hunting, or job hunting. At this point I am miserable and overwhelmed to think about all of this. 

Anyone who has gone through all of these, If you can share your 2cents, experiences or thoughts, about how you dealt this phase. It will be really helpful for me at this point in my journey. Thanks in advance! 🙏🏻
