Which keyboard to buy for regular use
Mechanical or membrane? Any tips or recommendations for good keyboards under 5k that works with macs? Want to learn from the community. Usage - typing and regular work related usage. Not gaming

Get anything which supports hot swappable, you will thank me later. You will have room for customisation. Its okay to indulge might cost you anything around 10K-30K but this will be a lifetime experience and expense. I have been using one from 4 years, spent some more customising the same. If you are into coding(considering its bread and butter) no harm spending 10K lower spectrum
On the lower side you can opt for keyboards from keychron, logitech MX mechanical or Fantech if its available in India for cheap.
Also opting for keyboard will make sense if you use a monitor and don't use the native laptop screen, otherwise it won't make much sense to carry around the bulky mech keyboard

Yes I use a secondary monitor and hence need the keyboard. Will surely look for the hot swappable and see if it makes sense. Thanks for the suggestion
Mechanical. Hot swappable isn't needeed tbh you wanna invest a lot. Cooler master, Indian based portronics hydra 10(ten keyless) or check meckeys for their mechanical keyboard. The gold standard is a ducky but they are really expensive. TVs gold used to be good but they use bad switches now. For typing, red/brown are good. Blue is decent as well

If you type a lot it might be worth investing in an ergonomic keyboard. Otherwise it doesn't really matter which you use. Mechanicals do feel good but those under 5k are usually prone to break down in an year unless you can hotswap switches. Been using a membrane wireless keyboard after 3 of my mech keyboards failed, the most expensive one costing about 2500. Granted I am not a mechanical keyboard enthusiast so people might disagree for suggesting a membrane one but wireless capability was more important to me than typing experience as I don't code as much as I used too.
