I see LinkedIn as the generic platform for technical personels. Presence on LinkedIn guarantees presence on other niche platforms but not viceversa

1. Probably a old person, as for them digital presence doesn't matter
2. Have not been actively looking for opportunities in past 2+ years
3. Probably not familiar with latest industry trends
4. Isn't aware about the bhaiya/ didi influenza, so also making him/her unaware of the current industry hiring patterns

I want to share my experience as a fresher at Accenture, my first company from a college placement. The first six months were fine, but then I faced severe mental harassment from my supervisor and manager. She constantly criticized my work and gave negative feedback, causing me immense stress. I often skipped meals and worked weekends to improve, but nothing helped.

Despite reporting the issue and requesting a supervisor change or a different track, my requests were ignored. The harassment worsened, affecting my physical health, and I couldn't eat or sleep properly. My manager controlled trivial aspects like where to sit and whom to talk to, making the situation unbearable. I was even forced to switch from a developer role to a tester, despite being trained as a developer.

The final straw was being placed on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) without a clear reason, with the same harassing individuals assessing me. I only had 1.9 years of experience then. I reported the mental harassment to HR and resigned due to deteriorating health, panic attacks, and weight loss. Despite having no other job offer, I couldn't continue. Even during my notice period, I was forced to complete PIP assignments, which led to suicidal thoughts and further health issues.

Now, I am jobless, feeling helpless and frustrated. With less than 2 of experience, I struggle to find offers in a down IT market and don't know what to do next.

Is it okay to mark yourself open to work on linkedin while you are connected to most of your company colleagues. Its visible to everyone and eventually the news will spread  in your team team that certain person is planning to move out.
I might even affect their behavior towards you.

One of the companies I worked with previously didn't  pay me for 2 months.
Obviously, I have sent a notice and intent to take legal action.

They have been getting paid media attention for a bit now. Even though I didn't intent to post anything publicly, I received a notification from LinkedIn informing me that they have disputed my position with them. Really low move.

Now I'm pissed.

I just want to know if I make a public post against them, will it affect me negatively in terms of public perception or future aspects?

I know I'm in the legal clear and the company is a very new startup and I'm not really worried about "burning bridges". My only concern is would a it potentially put off clients in the future?

Would appreciate some industry veterans weighing in!

Recently I have joined a seemingly good company. Since a while, I have witnessed a surge of linkedin request and I have accepted all of them, I even referred everyone who asked, gave them tips on their resume also and responded properly to everyone's query.
However, lately I have witnessed that many linkedin connections are sort of from less known companies or freshers. The thing is even I want to move ahead further and thus want to connect with people at a better position than me, but as recently many of my connections have been fresher or from lesser known companies thus my mutual connections and suggestion have been also like same.
I have been thinking of removing some of my recent connections, basically those who just sent request and since then have not pinged related to anything referral etc. I am unable to decide if I am a ad person for doing so.
Basically I would be myself doing what they have done, so I am feeling a bit guilty if I do so, but on the other hand I also think that I have not rejected anyone's request till now and even I future won't do so, I just don't want to fill my connection with people who are just randomly sending request to everyone.

Please help me..

Is there a way to block a company from appearing in ur job alert? I know u can remove particular job posting from appearing but some companies like crossover simply spam job listing and it’s very annoying. Any idea how to block these companies?

How common is it for recruiters to ghost you after multiple rounds of interviews and assessments (over months) by blocking your email so you can't even send follow up emails?

The way I see it - they don't lose much since they have thousands to choose from an applicant pool, but it certainly undermines the effort made my candidates to a huge degree. 

Or is that common courtesy, acknowledgement and in general being decent human seem rathee utopian concepts in this day and age?

Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Context: 10.5 YOE, Marketing lead. I've been looking for a switch since September last year. I'd seen signs of maybe my role or the company itself folding very early and knew 'twas time to bolt. But it's not that easy. Back then - 1 year in a startup meant hey not bad, people still spoke to you and considered your profile. These days, they treat you like Ebola if you've not had your ass stuck in the same place for 3-5 years. 

Anyway, so the majority of my time searching for jobs was the shitty Easy Apply or IIMJOBS premium account route. Suprise suprise. It doesn't work. But hey I was still employed and not nearly as motivated as someone who's unemployed. 

Cut to layoffs: Got laid off with my whole team and a huge chunk of other leaders. My first layoff, felt hilariously like the last day of school. To the org's credit they gave us 3 month severance, leave encashments and extra months for those who'd been there for 2 years+. In hindsight hearing the horror stories of 2k severance from Byju's. I'm grateful for the nice golden parachute I got. I'll be honest, it contributed heavily to my mental stability. I had time, I had leverage, I didn't have to run for the first shitty opportunity that came my way. 

The How I did it (why you struggled through the above stream of consciousness) 

- Wrote to 159 founders with one pagers to 35 of them with ideas on how i'd lead their marketing function. 5 replies. 3 interviews. 2 offers - didn't take em cuz they were super early stage or diff cities. This is immediately in month 1 so I've already started feeling icky about not getting great brands to have in my set. 
- Easy Applied to 768 (I ran a Gmail search, this is a real number) jobs. 99% no responses or you've been rejected. 
-Kept changing one letter on my Naukri.com profile, got me 6 calls, 3 interviews and 1 conversion

 - Add HRs and hiring managers on LinkedIn, send them free ideas and strategies. Its ok if they steal them it meant they were great. One of them will refer you, remember you or hire you. 
 - Have a CV and a summary (half a page) that gets people excited about wanting to read the CV. Only areas of expertise and bullet points for results  
 - Don't put the OpentoWork filter on your LinkedIn DP. Its radioactive. I know people actively avoid those profiles. But make sure to keep open to work beacon on for recruiters. It pushes you ahead  
 - Dont post low effort i need a job because im laid off, i dont have money, copy pasted by millions on Linkedin. If you're gonna publically ask for a job, make sure that post has enuff of your skillset screaming for a potential hirer to want to explore more. Else you'll get velle gadhe typing CFBR 
 - Dont be anal or choosy about interviewing, i literally gave 35-50 in 3 months that culminated in 4 offers. Each one taught me something, heck ive spoken to startups with 7 peeps in it  
 - The only one that can negotiate CTC is the one that can walk away. When the offer i wanted finally came, my fixed went down a tad, but variable increased. The role was worth it so i didnt bother negotiating. Places i wasnt excited about - oh i quoted 30% hikes and got it at one place :p
