Working From Home wins and woes
Work from home (WFH) has been really beneficial for me in terms of the flexibility it offers. I can manage my chores better, spend more time with my loved ones, and even travel while working remotely. But lately I have been getting bothered with the expectation to always be available. Gone are the days when one could “log out” in the evening and fully BE PRESENT where they were. These days, I get pings on Slack or WhatsApp messages for the smallest of things on late evenings and even weekends. It’s like work has slowly creeped into quality personal time. I love being present in the moment and this culture does not afford that option.
I am okay with it until I don't have to go to office. Everything has its pros and cons. Be happy that you are doing wfh. It provides more freedom.
It just seems like you haven't set boundaries with your coworkers. If you don't have boundaries you will never find balance at remote work or at office.
I see people going to office, working 9 hours, then comming back and logging in again from home. This just shows they can't manage boundaries.
Set strict boundaries that you won't be available after 7pm everyday. Things have to wait until tomorrow. Mute slack after hours. Your team will eventually adapt to your boundaries.

Biggest win is you dont have to look at your manager's face all the time.
Cons - those A**H** will ping randomly, usually when they do it on week ends i talk to them pretending to be drunk. And if they insist on working even after that, i just take 3 hours to do a 15 mins work.
