X to Y: Navigating the Corporate Maze in Just 2 Weeks—Your Insights Needed!

Hey folks! 🌐 Joined X out of necessity. KT for 1-2 days, then POC and client tickets. 🔒 Credentials revoked, told client issues. New guy in team, no intro, he got my creds. 📊 Reporting shifted to HR, no work assigned, sensed possible layoff. 🚫 No communication, red flag, forced office visit despite injury. 💰 Salary received, PF deducted, no passbook data, doubtful deposit. 🔄 Y offered better opportunity, hid X on resume, got and accepted offer. ❓ Should I have told Y about X? Concerned: 1. Tell now, they may understand or revoke. 2. Keep quiet, can they find out later via background check? 🤷‍♂️ Policies differ, but it's about people, not policies—understand or do shit. LinkedIn: X-> 300-400, Y -> ~4000 (layoffs recently, so numbers might decrease).

Business Roles on

Finally got a job (here's the do's and dont's)

Context: 10.5 YOE, Marketing lead. I've been looking for a switch since September last year. I'd seen signs of maybe my role or the company itself folding very early and knew 'twas time to bolt. But it's not that easy. Back then - 1 year in a startup meant hey not bad, people still spoke to you and considered your profile. These days, they treat you like Ebola if you've not had your ass stuck in the same place for 3-5 years. Anyway, so the majority of my time searching for jobs was the shitty Easy Apply or IIMJOBS premium account route. Suprise suprise. It doesn't work. But hey I was still employed and not nearly as motivated as someone who's unemployed. Cut to layoffs: Got laid off with my whole team and a huge chunk of other leaders. My first layoff, felt hilariously like the last day of school. To the org's credit they gave us 3 month severance, leave encashments and extra months for those who'd been there for 2 years+. In hindsight hearing the horror stories of 2k severance from Byju's. I'm grateful for the nice golden parachute I got. I'll be honest, it contributed heavily to my mental stability. I had time, I had leverage, I didn't have to run for the first shitty opportunity that came my way. The How I did it (why you struggled through the above stream of consciousness) - Wrote to 159 founders with one pagers to 35 of them with ideas on how i'd lead their marketing function. 5 replies. 3 interviews. 2 offers - didn't take em cuz they were super early stage or diff cities. This is immediately in month 1 so I've already started feeling icky about not getting great brands to have in my set. - Easy Applied to 768 (I ran a Gmail search, this is a real number) jobs. 99% no responses or you've been rejected. -Kept changing one letter on my Naukri.com profile, got me 6 calls, 3 interviews and 1 conversion I think theres a word limit to posts 🥲 following up as comments below.

Need Some Advice related to switching

1st Company(MNC | Name Appears in PF) - Worked for 1.6 years. Left yoluantarily in order to prepare for GATE 2nd Company(startup | Name doesn't Appear in PF) - Worked for 1 year. Was let go citing performance reasons(Which was completely bullshit) It was just the beginning of Covid 3rd Company(Startup | Name Appears in PF) - loined in the month of June 2020. Worked for 2 months and suddenly they terminated me in 3rd month since 1 was still in probationary period and they said, my performance was not upto the mark/Which I don't believe) 4th Company/Mid Size Company | Name Appears in PF) - Worked for 11 months. My parents were looking for a match for me. Left voluantarily, in order to get a high CTC. No problems here 5th Company/MNC | Name Appears in PF) - Currently working here. It's been almost 1.11 years and counting One of my frien d had referred me to GE through his senior and the feedback that he got was,I have changed many companies in short span of time. So my question is this: Iwill remove the second company from my resume and add that experience to the 3rd one while giving interviews or when the recruiter asks for the cv. And then once everything is over and at the time of offer release I will provide the proper documents to HR for bGV. will this work? Has anyone tried this in the past? The problem is, I cannot completely remove 2nd company as it would reduce my exp and it will create unnecessary problems w.r.t my passing out date and relevent exp And I cannot remove the 3rd company as it's name appears in pF forms. Hope you guys are able to see my dilemma here. Any/all help will be much appreciated. Thanks in Advance.
