They've got to improve a lot. Their algorithm to understand the user's meme taste is not up to the mark. I've tried it just to check how it compares with other apps. Not impressed. Needs more work. Looked interesting though.

A meme based dating app. Is it any good? Have you all used it?

How’s schmooze?

Tl;Dr - did not need to pay to get matches. Decent and genuine profiles for most part. Intent to meet is less than other apps but still quite happy with the experience.

I was honestly surprised by this one. Used to think meme swiping instead of profiles is gimmicky, but it's actually more entertaining than going through dating app profiles. Dank memes, good meme recommendations, small selection of profiles each day for you to schmooze (swipe right) or snooze (swipe left).

Had a few fun conversations, mostly young crowd but also has 30 yr olds. Got more than 20 matches while using casually for 2-3 weeks. No premium required, didn't try getting it either but even upgrades are very cheap and affordable imo.

🔴 More than 70% matches put in some effort in conversation 
🔴20% made little to no efforts in conversation
🔴5-10% paid fun/sugar baby requests
🔴 No bots (!)

According to their recent funding news, they apparently have 1 million active users, not surprising when you're getting a curation of memes plus people who like the same memes as you. Win win content+profile matching game, works better than I expected.

Slick app, no bugs encountered. Genie recommendations for conversation starters are kinda sad though, don't use those. Just start a normal conversation instead of pickup lines.

Highly recommend everyone to give this app a try.

I'm having an Idea for an open source marriage app. (Not a business)

Its made for youth, of youth, by youth for GenZ, Millenials who are not interested in the traditional constructs of society and is looking outside. 

How many viners here can come together for this project. Think of it like "The Product Folks " community but for marriage. 


1. KYC Should be done only by the boys/girls. No parents/nosy relatives interference whatsoever
2. Their likes and dislikes is hidden for others on the platform until the other gender initiates a conversation with them and accepts criterias mutually. 
3. It will have a bunch of mutually compatibility check sessions with feedback form for each other. 
4. No AI allowed on images on the platform.
5. Fees collected from the customers would be solely for the maintenance and upgrade of the app. 
6. Equal or equivalent criteria for matching guys n girls. 

7. Proposing app name as Utopic !!! 

Would love to know the opinions of other viners . @biryanienthu I read somewhere you worked on an idea on this space and would like to know your stance/opinions/other valuable inputs on this.

Saw this on Twitter today, found this interesting and loved the idea. 

The app is named - Jamm. A members-only social network that helps you meet all kinds of people over fun activities IRL. Tagline - ‘Never Have Another Boring Week’.

The idea behind this as per founder (Able Joseph) is to improve the social health/life of its members. The more like-minded the community, the nicer its interactions will be. 


Here’s how it works.
- Apply for membership
- Once accepted, pick an activity (board games, bike rides, etc.) and post a Jamm
- Receive requests from other members who are interested to be a part of your Jamm
- Curate the people you wish to bring together
- Coordinate with the Jammers on group chat
- Meet them IRL and have a good time

Interesting to see how they’ll be solving security challenges associated with meeting people. Also, I guess this could also turn out to be a hookup app.

Few observations:
1. Our generation has moved on from orthodox thinking (baring few people) to more emotional compatibility
2. Men have more worldly expectations, while women seek spiritual features; none are right/wrong as long as they find each other.
3. Very glad that no one 'expected' the partner to take up gendered roles as dictated by society

So, coming to the matchmaking platform. The idea is to have all aspects of life considered - personality, profession, family, demographics, physical attributes, etc. and have a weighted scale against them.

Though I have my doubts here
1. An Introvert will need an extrovert to seek them but will be drained of social battery later. How do they match?
2. Physical attributes pull down people who aren't confident with their looks; that doesn't relate to how good/bad they are as partners. But without pictures, it will be a risky surprise element.
3. Prevent parents from creating accounts on children's behalf. Probably a social media log-in

Share your thoughts on the compatibility algorithm and the problems we may face.

It's the same story with so many platforms. They start off well, then start making it difficult for users over time to get matches. Eventually it becomes pay-to-match completely, especially for men.

Is it really that difficult to run an honest matchmaking platform that actually does its job for a decent price or just ads? Has anyone tried starting their own or worked on platforms like these?
