You're going to meet your favourite people less than 100 times in total (unless you live with em)

If you meet your friends / family once a year, you're going to meet them maybe 40-50 times more before they pass or you do.

Don't know where i read it but it changed my perception of relationships quite a bit.

Make the most of every interaction. You never know which one could end up being your last, especially with older people.
